Morning, although it is still dark outside at least it’s dry so far. Yesterday morning was nice with the sun shining and I managed to hoe some of the flowerbeds and tidy up some of the plants. Gerry mowed the lawns a couple of days ago so it looks nice out there now. I am about to move house and we have little boxes everywhere…..I will update on that after I move into the next residence….....the next garden is small but adaptable and I have plans so I shall take pictures as I progress with the work. Today I am going to Derby shopping, visiting a friend in Hospital then tonight it’s Friday club for the youngsters at church. I have a busy day ahead so hope my energy levels keep going….......I shall take my umbrella though…..just in case in rains.

thanks Marquerite. The sun is still shining and I've just got back from cleaning the church kitchen. Saw the pereguin falcon over Belper Mill this morning at 7-30a/m/ so it was good to get out early. Gerry has made me a cuppa and then I'm off on the bus to Derby. When we move as long as I keep the kettle in sight, mugs, t-bags and milk we'll be fine. We are having fish and chips on moving day!!!! Also as long as the bed's made up, and we have a chair to sit on the rest can wait. I wonder what birds we will have visiting us as it's only a few hundred yards away from the fields and hills. Lots of walking space.......

Ah Linda, my Mum moved home a few years back - from our family home where she had lived for nearly 40 years. Needless to say, I think we managed to remove at least half of her precious shrubs (enormous Rhodies and Camellias) and she has kept them going in pots ! Lovely to start afresh with a blank canvas tho?

Sounds like you are moving to a great place for birds and wildlife. Hope all goes well. Moving is always hard work.

When we moved here from Britain I was a little sad to be leaving my garden so, just to make myself feel better I typed up a document for the new owners called "A Walk Round The Garden" with a diagram showing each plant with a description and short notes for its care. When the new owners viewed the house they were delighted with the garden but claimed not to know very much on the subject so, just in case I upset them with my document, I added a short sentence apologising if they felt patronised. I now feel "my" garden is in good hands and can tackle my new garden with a fresh view. Hope your move goes smoothly and you enjoy your new garden.

Hi Lindak, it sure sounds like you have a full program. Moving house can be very hectic and I don't envy you one bit. Leaving a garden in which you spent many happy hours behind is sad, to say the least. I hope the new owners will take care of it too. It will be interesting to see the new place and the progress you will make on the garden. Guess winter is the right time to move and plant things? Happy moving house.
