If this rain persists I shall start growing webbed feet, or build an Ark. I got caught out in a real downpour yesterday and made sure I walked along the sideroads home otherwise the cars create a watersplash along the main road and your legs get a soaking. The sun did make an appearance for about 20 minutes which was nice. Today I am off to Derby to window shop and perhaps buy a pair of jeans. Only a pair of jeans…..!!!!! Can’t do much outside as it’s just too WET. Twinkle hates the rain so will stay in today. I am going to clean the kitchen cupboards and the fridge then I think it will be nearly tea time. I’ve just had a shower and will be walking in one, shortly, to the bus stop!!! Cheerio for now.

Is Derby full of good shops? I've never been there. Did you just come back with a pair of jeans....?

I'm sure you'll buy more than a pair of jeans. Go on ! you have to do something to cheer yourself up in this rain .

I'm just off out in the rain......with a brolly nearly as big as myself.....going on the bus to Derby and Derby has a fairly new shopping complex called the Westfield centre. You can still walk around the old part of Derby and go into the cathedral. I always go into the old market hall and sit on the balcony that overlooks the market stalls and have a cup of hot milky chocolate.

I'm back and had a nice time window shopping. Had my cup of chocolate and a piece of flapjack!!! I bought 2 pairs of jeans....slapped wrist!!! My excuse is I need to downgrade a pair of older jeans for wearing in the garden whilst gardening. I also bought a mechanical hand whisk that doesn't use electricity, only Linda power. There are a lot of puddles around now, I always wonder what the poor old worms do this weather.

I am keeping a 'weather eye' (what an apt phrase that is!) on our stream, as it has begun to rise.... However, the rain has stopped for the moment so I hope all will be well. Glad you had a good expedition, Linda. No slapped wrists for buying two at once, it's a good idea to get them if they fit because when you go back for another pair - none there! That so often happens, doesn't it! Does at the Garden Centre, too. How often do you resist temptation and then decide that the plant would go in your garden - but when you return, they've run out! I suppose the worms just dive deeper into the ground, don't they????

Glad you enjoyed your day. There were floods here. Some houses and roads in Ammanford were flooded and a fire engine had to pump it away. I was stuck in a shop for ages waiting for another shower to clear before I could wheel my mother's wheelchair back to the car. It was coming down in sheets. Ah well we had a little conversation with the shop asst and some other stranded people - a thing that doesn't seem to happen often in these days of everyone rushing about.
All the best, Hywel.

It's Saturday and still raining and I've seen the floods and rising steams and rivers in Wales on the television. They are having a really tough time of it. I hope you keep safe.
