A wonderful trip to Sweden.

We are back from our sons’ place in Sweden. I worked in the garden this time and enjoyed the outside life. We also went on a trek with the locals on Sunday on a historical guide of old crofts.
My main jobs were to clear weeds and sow grass seed and sort out the flower beds.
I also helped John paint the house in my spare time.

I expected Kurt Wallander to appear in one of those images! You all look as if you are having a great time.

Bet your son appreciated the weeding.

Funny you should say that Eirlys. For me, the last photo is straight out of Jordscott which was one of my favourite Swedish shows.

It looks great Linda, it really does.

My Niece lived in Sweden for a time and they really do seem to have got life sorted! Beautiful Country, such clear air and the cleanliness and tidiness always strikes you. Lovely pictures of the crofts and the woodland/forests.

Sounds like you had a really hard working holiday. Glad that you also found time to go on a trek. A country that I would really like to visit. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you had a good time :) Sweden is somewhere I got interested in when ABBA were around :D

I like the pic of the honeysuckle, the blue flowers in the background look wonderful alongside it :)

I like your scarecrow too - reminds me I just made a sorta kinda one the other day, I should put a photo up, give you a laugh... haven't had time or energy.

It was quite funny on Sunday morning we waited for everyone to pass our house and then we all went passed the barn and up through the boys' land and into our neighbours and then into the woods. It was about a two and a half hour walk along tiny paths. I would never have found my way back.
I worked really hard digging up dandelions, ground elder and nettles. The flat bit with Gus the scarecrow has taken two visits to flatten and seed. My Swedish friend Elisabeth, has given me some plants and there are lots of nice trees and shrubs. Anything for the garden is expensive and plants are not as available as the uk.
The trees and lakes are amazing though.
The boys have four and a half acres of land. It is the most wonderful position, quiet, with only birdsong, woodpeckers and cuckoos.
You never see any litter. People are very environmental friendly.
I love watching Swedish detective programmes just to hear them talk. They always film in the winter. The summer is hot and sunny. It is 29 degrees at the moment. You need blackout blinds as it is light early in the summer.
I had a lot of work to do on my own garden but got most of it finished today. I spent Friday with Barbara on our vegetable patch. We earthed up the potatoes and sowed the carrots, turnips and beetroot in the raised beds. The broad beans are doing well and the tomatoes.
All very tiring but I love it.
