Hi there fellow gardeners. I have been taking photos of my Tulips before they fall apart until next year. They start the season with such wonderful colours.

I have them in pots on our stone seat just outside the sitting room window. They are lovely to look out at.

In Essex the tulips are now a distant memory, as they were so early Linda......lovely gentle colours up there in Scotland. I just have one pot of old parrot tulip bulbs to clean up and store away. See if I can flower them again next year..

Well Snoopdog, I am at stage 26. I have done the weed and feed, scarified, redone the bits I missed, put down grass seed ( twice) and some seed compost to stop the pigeons eating it and I refuse to talk to it but I do chase the pigeons. I think it will look great in a few weeks. I have four lawns and I have had to cut it in between leaving three days each way, making sure it rains and not putting weed and feed down if the grass is wet or frost is expected. If my lawns look bad it is not my fault.
I intend to feed mine Dorjac then lift them and plant them in the garden in November. Fingers crossed they will flower next year. My friend here in Glasgow has been doing this for years and her garden looks great in spring.

They are lovely! I will get more for next year. What I would really like is to naturalise some T. Sprengeri in the grass under the apple trees.

Speaking of grass, mine looks truly awful! If I get it cut today that will help, but the back is a disaster. I shall have to buy yet more grass seed because after I removed all the moss there was nothing left! just shows...not a good idea to let moss get out of control! Then there's the holes where I dug out the dandelions....hundreds of em...like little mouse holes in the ground. I shall have to fill them up at some point. Then there's the creeping buttercup....the weed and feed is making it curl at the edges and grow lanky....but once that's gone....there'll be no green in a huge part of the front lawns. I reckon I could win the GOY bad lawn contest hands down!! Lol!

I think you are right Hywel, I will wait until next year for the results.
When I first took over my garden 37 years ago I couldn't move the lawn mower over the grass because of the moss. It was so difficult. Each spring it looks great until I hit it. Trouble is I would be back to stage one if I didn't. Bite the bullet Karen. Kath is coming to Glasgow tomorrow....we are meeting up. When are you coming this way?
Hope to see you soon.
