Visit to Wisley

At last I have made the trip south to Wisley. The weather was wonderful and we walked around the gardens until exhaustion set in. It was the Fir trees that impressed me most. They have a beautiful collection. I bought a Sisyrinchium for myself and one for the friend we were staying with. She lives on the Wey canal and took us on a boat trip to the pub for lunch. I have included her garden in this blog. The swans stopped at her garden’s end as we sat at the canal edge for breakfast. What a life!! I have also included my sons new garden in London, as he is managing to grow plants that have suffered this winter across Britain. I bought Mike a collection of herbs from Wisley. We returned to Glasgow after a heavy rain fall had flattened our garden.

I`m glad you enjoyed your visit to Wisley Linda, you certainly had the weather for it. Good for you treating yourself from the plant centre , there is such a lot to choose from. Great photos, your friend and son have lovely gardens. :o)

I see you enjoyed yourself Linda, and treated yourself too. Love photos of Wisely, I have a couple of friends that work there. Your friends garden is beautiful, lovely is nt it going on the water nice and cool in this weather. Love that fan palm and the bottom of your sons garden he has done well to keep than I only have one stem left on mine alive, so fingers crossed, I even bought it in for winter too into the house, Such a shame about your garden being flatted with the rain sorry to hear thatt.

Phew Linda was it hot at Wisley? Glad you enjoyed the visit, and seeing a friend with a waterside garden, visited by swans. I am praying for rain but not for a flattened garden!
