I,m writing this with a heavy heart, Malik has spent the day at the vet undergoing tests and x,rays .We fetched him home at teatime,we have to wait for a few days for the results of the tests but have seen his x,rays and its worse than we imagined, the vet thinks our lad has a cancer in his leg, until we get the results we dont know if he has it elsewhere…..

What can one do but hope and pray………..

I have been here fairly recently with one of our dogs and it is absolutely dreadful when it has gone too far ~but hopefully this won't be the case with Malik~here's hoping that it is localised and not spread.
fingers crossed too!

I feel for you Lincs, I also hope that its only local and they have caught it in time. By the way I clicked the "I like this" thingy as a habit, sorry.

Youre in our prayers LL especially Malik...give malik a hug from us here !
we meditate and send out healing at 11 every night until 12, so if you would like to channel it to \malik, just lay your hands on him and think of us sending healing energy to him through you...
All our love to you...
Indy and family

My hopes for a good outcome are with you and Malik, but he's well-loved, and you will do everything that's right for him...bless him, and you.

Sorry to hear your news. It's frightening isn't it. Hopefully the vets will be able to help Malik. I'm sure they'll do all they can and he'll recover.

Thinking of you both LL, such a worry for you. I'm joining all the others in wishing Malik good news and a full recovery. x

Hello LL ~
I'm thinking of you and Malik at this difficult time.
The waiting for results to come back is very stressful.
As you know from my World Wide Wagging blog, my Sheltie, Conker, has been fighting cancer since springtime.

I hope that Malik's biopsy results show something less serious than cancer. Message me privately any time if you wish, as my experiences of Conker's vet clinic treatment might be of use to you in some way.

Sending love and hugs to Malik. xxx

How is Malik, LL? I've been thinking about him all day.

28 Aug, 2009

Thankyou all for your comments, unfortunately we did not get the results from the vets so we are in limbo at the moment and as its a bank holiday weekend we probably have to wait until Tues at the earliest. Malik has got his appetite back and has even been playing a bit although we try not to let him run. He is on medication which makes him a bit sleepy but that is a good thing as its relieving his pain.........

28 Aug, 2009

Glad he's a bit brighter LL, don't let him do too much just yet and give him a love from me!

29 Aug, 2009

I'll second that thought Indy! ! ! You must be hating all of this LL, keeping the poor lad confined and not letting him do his thing. Best wishes from all of us on planet Digs and sending big hugs and strokes for Malik too

29 Aug, 2009

So glad he's a little better LL, it's awful to have a sick pet over a Bank Holiday weekend and even worse to have such a long wait for results too. Thinking of you and Malik

29 Aug, 2009

I hope you all have a good weekend~
~best wishes for a speedy recovery for him

Hi LL ~
That's good to know Malik is eating better.... yes the waiting for results is very difficult, but it seems like you are making a fun Bank Holiday for Malik, even though he is a bit sleepy on the medication...

I'm pleased to say that Conker's appetite is almost back to normal today... I hope it stays that way, despite the new antibiotics ...

....thinking of you...love from Terra. xxx

29 Aug, 2009

Wonderful news Terra ,very happy for you both!

29 Aug, 2009

Indy ~ many thanks...
Malik is being a brave boy, isn't he... :o)

29 Aug, 2009

He is, very brave, its sooo hard for active lads and lasses to be kept quiet, I don't need the pic to see him with his ball all hopeful, its burned into my memory with those sad eyes behind saying "go on just once eh!"....

29 Aug, 2009

hi lincs glad to hear malik is eating better and having a bit of funtime with you, better that he is a bit sleepy, will relax him, awful worry when waiting results, good luck x

29 Aug, 2009

I'm so sorry to hear about Malik! My thoughts are with you!

Thankyou for all your comments. When we brought Malik home from the vets after discovering it was not a damaged ligament and what could be the worse outcome, both hubby and myself decided not to put him in the pen,it seemed too cruel to do that to him so he has his freedom and is a happy lad again, although playtime is obviously supervised. He is back to being the foreman in the garden and follows my every move just to make sure I`m doing things correctly.
Terra I,m really pleased to hear Conker is perking up again and lets hope his medication sorts him without upsetting his tummy again.
Once again thanks all from Malik and myself.....Sue.

29 Aug, 2009

glad mailk is feeling happier and you were only doing what you thought was right for him at the time lincs, hugs for malik x

29 Aug, 2009

Yes San thats it but we hadn,t got the heart to do it to him again so happiness won out,we`ll just be extra careful when playing, although if it was up to him he`d race around,he`s perfected the art of racing up and down the garden on 3 legs.Lol....

29 Aug, 2009

awww lol, bless him

30 Aug, 2009

I'm sure that being happy is part of the medicine! Good for you! Love, and strokes for Malik...xx

30 Aug, 2009

Supervised free play for Malik is a very sensible compromise.... at the vet clinic which Conker attends each week, the aim all the time for the animals is quality of life...and the staff were delighted a while ago when I told them Conker was getting out and about again and had enjoyed a charity dog show ...

Conker started the new tablets yesterday, and he is okay on them so far......

Dogs cope very well when able to use only three legs... I've seen many examples of this... so that's wonderful to know Malik is enjoying the freedom of the garden. Please keep us up to date on any news. Thanks. Kisses and hugs for Malik. xxx
