Taking advantage of a good day..

My washing dried outside, first time in nearly a year that I have pegged out a full load because of the stretching and it felt good.
Anyway thats about the only housework that got done apart from feeding two legged people and four legged friends, I had better things to do.
I mowed the lawns, didn’t get the strimmer out though, I am being good and left that for another day, still doing a higher cut as its very wet underfoot and it stands a better chance of surviving where the dogs wander…

Blossom showing on the plum tree, bit of a worry as we’ve had frosts for the last two days…

As you can see a certain someone had other ideas..

Whilst his furry pal just sat and looked with his usual grumpy face…
I had time in the g’house pricking out as well…

Toms and Cucumbers doing well, I am still covering them at night just to be on the safe side..

Some Pansies that I literally threw in a tray last autumn and shoved under the staging, there is something else growing in the tray, have no idea what they are, not big enough to prick out yet but time will tell with those. ..

Crocosmia pricked out, still more not quite ready but some were in danger of getting leggy..

As you can see my fuschia’s and geraniums are coming along….

As you can see the birds are also busy so are now leaving my primroses alone….

It is Sandra, I have put the odd sweater and articles that cannot go in the tumbledrier on the line but even last summertime the washing was going in the dryer because I could manage that but not hang them on the line, then of course we had months of rain so rarely even bothered to try, of course you'll have lots more now with the new baby in the house, I hope you get chance to do lots of spoiling....

Thanks Hywel, I like to think its down to me but know from the last couple of years that it can actually manage without me, lol...
Its grand to get stuck in and down and dirty again, I'm making up for lost time and enjoying every minute... .

its pouring today Pam so doubt I'll even get as far as the g'houses, once again the strimming will get left, I knew I should have carried on yesterday...

Pouring here too Lincslass! You have been busy, all that pricking out and the geraniums (sorry about that it's an old habit, I know they are not really geraniums!) are looking good. I even have some which got left in the garden over winter and are sprouting happily - shows how mild the winter has been.
Our greengage/yellow plum or whatever they are called these days just had one branch with a little cluster of flowers, it looked so odd that even non-gardening/noticing OH commented on it! Now it has more and we have had a couple of nights of frost, but probably ground frost rather than air frost (or is that another old-fashioned fallacy?)
I can't keep up!

Honey I always refer to them as geraniums, its what we say here as well, cannot be doing with all these high falutin new names and expressions, its done me all my life and I'm not going to change, hoping the fact that its only ground frost it won't have hurt the blossom, none of it has turned brown alls well so far...

It all looks very good, Lincs. It's good to start some proper gardening again!

Lovely garden, Lincs, I envy you though not the amount of work that's involved. Not any more. I look out at mine and can see all of it in one go and appreciate it. Even the small size now, whereas it's taken me a while to get used to that after a large garden.

I also love your friends. Miss mine a lot although Dusty, the cat, used to eat all my Hakonechloa and left me only one small bit. Fortunately, after 18 months, that's grown enough for me to split. Still wish he was here though.

Sounds like really good days work Lincs, and dirt under the fingernails again makes you remember who you are ...
Your garden's looking grand and the potting up impressive. I do love your grumpy puss...
Arbuthnot - it can take a long time to get used to a loved pet not being around any more can't it? -

Isn't it lovely to be able to cut the grass, although mine is now become waterlogged again. I think that is the most beautiful grumpy face I have ever seen :)
