Exciting times in the trees.

Got a phonecall this morning from my youngest," Come quick mum and bring your camera" Their house is only around the corner and backs onto a very large playing field, it turned out the trees in the grounds of the field were playing host to lots of visitors..

They were going from tree to tree, over the road is a tree on the verge that was smothered in red berries,

I don`t think they will move on until they have stripped it bare..

One of the locals, not impressed at losing his home..
I still have my old faithfuls.

One of the good things about having snow, I probably would never have been lucky enough to see a flock of all these birds let alone get the photo`s without it…..

Thanks all, my daughter is as keen on the birds and gardening as I am, living so close now I often get fetched around for some kind of wow factor moment, lol..
Pixi I `ve had my Canon a year now, no good with all the teccie stuff, its all trial and error with me, there are all sorts of settings on it, they go way over my head, I take my pics using various settings and hope for the best, there is a way of programming ones most used settings on it and still haven`t figured it out, luckily the birds stayed around long enough for us to take lots of pics. You wanna see how many I haven`t used, thank goodness for digital and laptops, lol...
Some of the pics were taken through the window whilst I was sitting in my chair, its a brilliant lense as it reaches the bottom of my garden...

Great blog of so many birds! Do you know what species they were? As you haven't said what they were I suppose you don't know either.

This East wind had brought lots of gulls inland from the coast & we get lots around here.

Seen lots of Robins this year as well as lots of our normal birds like Sparrows, Blackbirds, Thrushes, Starlings & a few small birds that I don't know. Lots of Wood & Ring Necked Pigeons.

Fieldfares Balcony, they are usually accompanied by Redwings, there were loads of them on the trees...
We also have lots of gulls, they never land in my garden, will admit I sometimes throw food over the fence into a neighbouring area for them, its owned by the scouts, I`ve watched them from bedroom windows and know they do land in there, only do it occasionally though as one doesn`t want to get into trouble..

Strangely no Goldfinches this year, we had loads visiting last year, don`t understand birds sometimes...

Mmmm, birds have minds of their own, don't they? Lovely pics, Lincs! We were relieved to see two long-tails in the garden this morning . . . first for ages, I was getting worried about their survival. :))
