Avatar changes !!!!!!!.

Don`t know whether you`ve noticed but yesterday I had a mad moment and changed my avatar pic,

Decided it wasn`t really appropiate so we have this,

Last week was gorgeous and I was very busy enjoying myself as I know a lot of you were in the garden, 2 days I worked in dads,Sat was spent in my youngest daughters garden as she is moving house soon and there is a lot of sorting to do {as you can imagine) it was really too hot for what we were doing but needs must, shorts and suncream were the order of the day,oh and lollies and icecream for those that can have them, mine was a lager, lol,. Anyway it was good fun, Sat night I relaxed in front of the tv and watched BGT, the right act won in my opinion. Then all hell let loose with that massive thunderstorm which went on for hours, poor Brynner was petrified, Morgan doesn`t care and went to sleep, .Brynner is a big lad now so you can imagine how uncomfortable it gets when he is sitting shivering on ones lap ,lol, any advice on how to cure his phobia`s will be extremely welcome as he`s also decided he`s scared of the car and has to be picked up and forced into ours which is not an easy task.

He`s refusing to go outside because its thundering all around us at the moment.

In his mouth is all thats left of his bed, he chewed the base out of it during the night. Anyway back to my avatar, Its a good job I did all those jobs last week because it`s been a bit iffy since although it has helped me catch up indoors, below are some pics I`ve taken this afternoon.

As you can see we now have an extra pond in the patio wall,… My question to all of you and myself is : Which pic should I use at the moment ?.. Oh well at least I don`t have to water the garden but where are my wellies cos have to do the greenhouses still……..

hi sue gosh you wore me out reading this lol, nice to help the kids when they start up home though, my son doesnt have a garden but helped set up his flat, just like to see things nice and comfortable for him,
poor brynner i use to watch that american guy on tv with dogs and was one on about getting a dog to go in car, he didnt do it by pushing and lifting, he had the dog on long lead then he climbed in first backward and the dog eventually followed, taking time and talking to the dog, after a few times and patients the dog eventually went in unaided,as for thunder not sure about that one, love the new avatar and pics lovely to ;o)))

the rain on saturday evening/ night did come down, didn't it!!! i had the same thought- at least we're saving a bit on the water bill!
you've been very busy helping everyone out and i'm sure your daughter appreciates it- i love it when my mother in law comes to help me (my own mum refuses- too much with her own garden lol).
like the new avatar- you should take the same shot at the beginning of each month and change it to demonstarte the changing of the seasons!

ponds on the patio don`t sound good, although we appreciate the rain you seem to have had a drop too much (rain that is). I`m sure the plants will all spring back up again with the next bit of sunshine.

We had our downpour, sunday evening, but no thunder.Fine yesterday, but light rain all today.Poor Brynner,I think most dogs are frightened in those conditions,Linclass, ours used to be too.I must admit though,I love your pic of him with his chewed bed...aww.Your garden is looking nice too,and looks like you had a very busy week.....

We had hail as well as downpours here today, so it seems to have been bad in most of the UK, I think.

I do prefer your new pic to the chilly one! :-))

Hi L/lass, great blog as usual! Poor Brynner~I don't know if Terra has pm'd you this, but you can buy a cd for pets who are scared of thunder, and/or fireworks, which is suppose to work on sound therapy, so that they get use to the noise and eventually take little notice of it. I haven't tried this myself, but it might be worth looking in to it to see if it will help de-stress him~it has been around for a while, so there should be something on the internet about it. Hope that might be of some help. :~))

Hello Flori, thankyou for that, it has its funny side when he`s trying to sit on our laps or trying to get into the smallest dark corner but for his own sake I`d like to help him.......

When I was a teenager, oh many moons ago, we had a german shepherd dog that was terrified of thunder, so I know exacally what you are going through, L/lass. I can't promise it would help, but maybe worth looking into perhaps? I know you can get tablets, and there is even a plug-in that is suppose to help de-stress your pet, that I saw at my local RSPCA store......anything is worth a try if it makes Brynner's life less stressful. Have a word with your local vet, this is a much wider problem than you would think. I wish you success :~))x

What a difference a season makes and even a day as I can see from your photos Sue. I`m really glad Perry isn`t bothered by loud noises as Jake used to be like Brynner and was scared stiff of thunder/fireworks etc. I wish I knew the answer because everything I did for Jake didn`t help I`m afraid.
