yes i expect all of us did not see the new month coming, every april i marvel on how quick it goes. i have been more ready than usual this yaer thanks to a greenhouse(polycarbonate) and a electric window sill propagator. it is sad when the daffodils finish but i have ordered some late flowering ones for next year. i think it is good that you can now order spring bulbs when they are in season, because you can see to fill in the gaps. i have a very bad habit of planting bulbs too close together, i have just learned that the cause of lack of flowering is mainly attributed to that bad habit and the fact that i do not lift after flowering and store for next year. i do not have much room for storing and as i am disabled extra planting is very difficult. the baskets you can buy are too expensive so any advice would be welcome. thanks for reading lemondog

Lovely tulips. I always think the spring is over too soon. I'm sure we've missed a few weeks somewhere.

Although I love the bulbs, May has always been my favourite month! Everything is fresh green and all the plants start shooting up ready to flower. Lovely :-)

I love march to end of may as i can walk down garden most days, and something as pop't its nose out the ground to say hallo.

I don't lift any of my bulbs ever lemondog, so i wouldn't worry too much about doing that.

Neither do I, SK,If they have no chance of surviving our winters they go in pots; the pots can be moved where necessary.
I used to pride myself on having a good memory and being able to remember things for the whole family but now I have difficulty in remembering something from one minute to the next. It is no wonder plants surprise me by suddenly making their presence known, and elbowing each other for space. GoY has been a boon for my garden planning! Lol.

I remember a gardening programme saying if you plant them at least 9 inches deep there's no need to lift them. Even bossy Sarah Raven says she plants hers 10 inches deep.
