They're out!!

The first sunny, warm day of the year is one of my favorites. Not just because I hate the cold and look forward to summer, but because the tortoises can venture outdoors after being cooped up all winter. Today the temperature is over 60 degrees & the sun is shining, so it’s a perfect day to bring the Burmese and Hermann’s tortoises out for a few hours of lazing and grazing.

60F is chilly to me, I prefer it at least 80F, but after this winter I'll take whatever I can get.

too early for my spur-thighed tortoise to come out of hibernation just yet but late March early April is usually the time he starts to stir.
Beautiful tortoises you have L, they are a special animal to care for properly & well worth it are'nt they?

Hi, Nice to see you have reached 60 and that the Tortoise are about again, the best our part of Devon has reached so far is a balmy 57 degrees.
