After the long dark winter, it is sometimes hard to get going again. But once it's warmer, with longer days, and you see things growing and see things that need doing, then I'm sure you'll want to be out in your garden again.

You've been a gardener for a very long time, Lammie. All that experience! You have so much you can share with the rest of us.

Hopefully Lammie, when the warmer weather comes, you'll feel better (and your wife). Best wishes. X

Hello Lammie, i have not been on the site for some time now because we have had such a bad time over the past few months with first my uncle who is 78 and then my father and step-mother, all in and out of hospital with heart attacks, both of whom are in their 80's as well.

They are all better now but it struck me how quickly life changes. 84 is just a number, if you feel you can carry on in your garden, i beg you to do so. Keeping active is essential, you are like a machine - if you are not used you seize up and eventually break down.

As i said to my parents only today, summer is on the way, winter can seem so sad at times, everything is so grey.

I hope this cheers you up a little and your wife picks up in health and you both burst into life like the garden in spring! Tiger.

My father was a very keen and a good gardener all his life.....it was his pride and joy and it kept him fit. I feel better after working in the garden.......like father like daughter. :o)
