Our New Garden
We have moved from Bedford to Climping on the West Sussex coast since the last time I looked at this website. We moved just before Christmas and initially were unable to do much in the garden as it seemed to rain forever as well as that time of year was very busy for most people with hopeful visits from father Christmas to arrange for little ones.
To be truthful I hadn’t looked at the website for ages before the house move.
I was disappointed to leave our garden as it was just beginning to look better than it ever had because things just seemed to take so long to grow except the weeds.
Our new garden is very different inasmuch as its much bigger, well lot longer and unkempt without having had any pruning done for 18 years. It has lots of trees that are overgrown that would probably rival them in the Amazon forests. We had a hedge of choiysia that had outgrown its bed and had travelled over the lawn such as it was to about 12 ft across. The clematis Mantana I suspect had trunks as fat as any douglas fir and had travelled all around the garden. We have got rid of the choiysia and laid new turfs over the bare patch which took 30 square metres. The rubbish behind the sheds will take lots longer. Five fruit trees are so high they are almost impossible to prune and as it has got too late in the year now for that they will have to wait until next year. Anyone wishing to advise or help would be welcome. I will try and get some before and after pictures here.
