I notice I haven`t written a blog for two weeks now so I thought I`d let you know whats been going on. Because the weather has been so nice I`ve spent most of my free time outside and very little in the house. Now I have the beginnings of a nice garden but a rather dusty, though clean house. I did reluctantly do a whole heap of ironing last Thursday but only because we were running out of clothes, my mind was firmly in the garden planning what I needed to do next.

I bought these at work this afternoon but I`m afraid they are not both for me. The rose, Galway Bay is a climber with pink fragrant flowers that is a present for a friend`s wife. I`m seriously tempted to buy one for myself because it was recommended by a friend who has one. The Lathyrus “Red Pearl”, the everlasting Sweet Pea is mine and is now planted to grow up an obelisk. Well I can`t buy a plant for somebody else without having one myself now can I? lol!

This peony seems to get bigger each time I look at it.

Perry`s gloves goes everywhere with him. I hung them on the line to air the other day as they were getting a bit smelly. My daft boy just bounced up and down trying to pull them off. I gave up and let him have them back, he loves them smelly or not…lol!

Acer "Orange Dream. I only got it last year so its still very small. It has lovely foliage though and will look gorgeous as it gets bigger.*

On Saturday I spent hours in the garden and ended up with what I thought was a `touch of the sun`. I had the most awful headache and felt very nauseaus too. I still don`t feel 100% so it might be viral. I have a high pain tolerance but that really laid me low. Whatever the cause I`ll wear a hat in the garden from now on, though I can`t begin to tell you how bad I look in them…lol!

On Friday I had a bit of a disaster in the greenhouse. I was bringing my bedding plants back in at the end of the day when a top shelf collapsed spilling my precious little plants all over the floor. I said “Bother!” …loudly! and got down to clearing up the mess and salvaging what I could. The only casualty was an oxalis and I have enough of them. I was just relieved it wasn`t a geranium or begonia, then I would have been upset. Oh but the mess it made…even after sweeping up several times there is still compost on the floor.

Today Jim had a `rest day` from work. I don`t know why they call them that because `rest` just didn`t come into it. This morning he cleaned up the patio ready to jet-wash. Put up a new fence panel and painted it. He was going to clean the outside windows but he had to see the mechanic about his car. This afternoon when I came home from work we visited a small local garden centre for the first time. It has only been there in its present form for a couple of years and I just hadn`t got round to going there till now.. There were some reall nice plants at good prices but there was nothing that particularly caught my eye. Their bedding plants are very reasonable though which I shall bear in mind for next year. We visited the farm shop though and I bought some organic rhubarb which I made into a tasty crumble which has now been eaten. Oh it WAS lovely. :o)

It's nice to hear you've been busy. There's so much to do in the spring. Sorry to hear about your accident. I would have said worse than 'bother' lol. I hope you're feeling better now. I think there's a virus going round. Even they wake up in the spring.
Lovely to see a photo of Perry with his glove :o))

Lovely blog Sandra, so frustrating when accidents happen, I know how far compost spreads ! My Mum has a mauve everlasting sweet pea, self set (birds ? ) growing against a white wall, gorgeous. Perry looks very happy. Hope you're feeling better now. : o ) )
