Some like it hot.............

It is Canada Day today and very, very hot on Vancouver Island. I am surprized not seeing more life on the ocean

31 degrees in the shade and much more in the sun. I am sitting inside with air conditioning running full blast .Yikes.

A Thermostat last night at supper time…in the sun.

We had the hottest June on the record this year and practically no rain.

I cannot find any worms in this hot weather and I have family to feed (says American Robin):

Well, I am loving it:..:-)

and so do we

Hope that you all enjoyed the 1st of July.

That water is so inviting...I want to jump in. Very hot here in NY as well, but that's nothing new. I think your robin also needs a cool bath.

We do not usually have so hot, I think we are in the record country. Robins have plenty of birdbaths around.
Living on Long Island you must be close to the ocean too.

Yes, I'm fairly close to the beach. I love to take my bike out to the ocean. It's so wonderful.

Beautiful view ,Klahanie, and we have had record breaking temps here in the UK too..Yesterday was the highest every recorded for July, and I hope they aren't going to be a regular thing,as we aren't accustomed to these..Glad to see some of your plants are enjoying it,and your Robin knows where to come for a drink :o)

I think that somehow the coasts of Canada got switched! Our Canada Day was moderate temps... in the low 20's. with rain. Today it's very cool... in the single digits overnight C. but with sun we are supposed to be into the 30's.

Looks like hot, hot everywhere. Thank you all for your comments. Glad that we are not along. We usually do not have it so hot as the ocean regulates our temperatures. Not too hot in summer and not too cold in winter. That is how it was traditionally. But I remember when we moved here 11 years ago it was a hot summer as well.
It is Jan2, 7:30AM (Western Canada) and cool 21 degrees outside. (I have little "weather station" on my desk) Hopefully it will not be so hot today but the forecast suggests more of the same in the next few days. We really need some rain. Wildfires are already starting and we are on a water restriction. We have our own well but respect the restriction. I am not watering lawn ...only plants and fruit trees.
Wishing you all a nice summer ...not too hot and not too cold. Just nice and warm.

It was steaming here in Sputh East of UK, too, Klahanie.too hot to sleep at night and too hot to work in the daytime(but I had to). Was the hottest July day on record here!

I hope you're coping with the heat. Your plants seem to be enjoying it.
Poor Robin. I hope he gets a meal soon ...

I'm glad I live in Wales. We get rain most of the time. It has rained today too. It suits me :)

Comfortable here too and I sure hope it stays that way!

Thank you Paul , Hywel and Stera for your comments.
We are coping with the heat wave OK. I envy you your rains in summer Hywel (and I assume Stera too). We have lots in winter but absolutely none during the summer. I do dig a worm for the robin here and there Hywel. They have a nest in our pyracantha right now.

Not really Klahanie. We haven't had much lately - one heavy downpour and a few drizzly days. We are about an hour and a half west of Hywel and weather here can be very localised. I did need to water the veg plot this evening for the first time though. I picked two pounds of gooseberries and then forgot them and overcooked them - feeling very cross at myself as they are too liquid for either crumble or fool.

Sounds like a perfect climate you have there Stera. My friends have to water their vegetable garden every day.
I overcooked my rhubarb today too. LOL. I have to find out what to make out of rhubarb sauce. Custard?...
