Thunbergia Mysorensis

As you can see I am obsessed by this plant. Perhaps because it is new to me. I can sit in the gazebo and watch it’s dangling clusters in the breeze and hummingbirds zooming through for hours. I bring my book down there and feel like in another world….as Alice in Wonderland.

Thunbergia Mysorensis shines in the sunset with dramatic pendents of hanging blossoms

Closer zoom

Walking through the courtains of flowers

Strings of flowers hanging down from an arbour

In the background ,covering the stone wall is another Thunbergia ……Thunbergia grandiflora with its sky blue flowers

That's absolutely gorgeous, I've never seen one of those before!

Snoopy, I am surprised that you do not have any hummingbirds in UK. We have several kinds on Vancouver Island which has similar climate to UK.
Here in Mexico, several different kinds, not the same as on the Island up North.

Louisa, It is very new plant for me too. Have never seen one before either.
Thanks for your comments.

It is spectacular ... I can understand how it feels like a different world when you look at it from your gazebo, and I like the way the sun shines on it making it look golden.
I like the blue one too :o)

That is truly amazing! lovely thing. The only Thunbergia I'm really familiar with is the little vine with the golden yellow trumpet shaped flowers with a dark throat. We can grow them as annuals and they look wonderful in hanging baskets. Mysorensis...does it come from India, I wonder? Do you happen to know what the blue one is named?

Lorilyn, I also plant Thunbergia alata (Black-Eyed Susan) in the pots. The sky blue flowered plant in the background is
Thunbergia grandiflora.
