Look who is coming for dinner tonight

Wildlife in the backyard of Arizona home in the desert country.

Javelinas. Really? I have never seen these animals in real life. Only in local art.

I have put some lettuce for them by the tree. They come early in the morning.

Rabbits come for lettuce as well.

Families of Gambel’s Quail with their unique call

Gamble’s quail female

ground squirrel found something yummy

Mourning Doves mating pair

Bunny mingles with birds with no problem

Mr.Blackbird comes too.

Gila Woodpecker is trying desperately to reach the hummingbird feeder.

Pretty hummingbird likes his juice and protects his feeder vigorously

Even Red Cardinal shows up wondering what is going on here

but…look who else is here……

Hi Xela, there are much more life and beautiful flora than I believed. We are not going to be here when the desert will come to bloom but I have seen pictures and it is spectacular. Lots of wildflowers. We have also seen a bobcat and hear coyotes at nigt.
Have a Merry Christmas.

Great photos. I've never heard of Javelinas. It was interesting to see the photo of one.

I've heard of them Hywel because we are coming here every winter (on our way to Mexico.) but did not actually seen one in real life. This was a nice surprise for us as well.
Thank you for your visit and the comment.
