My Den

Prompted by Louisa15,s Shed blog I went down to what as become my Den built by grampa for the 5 grand kids who are slowly out growing it but often say when they call in shall we have coffee & biscuits in the den and off we troop with the tray .it was made out of recycled wood and could do with a paint this year, it so nice to sit in it listening to the birds singing it,s peaceful and relaxing we painted it all green even the floor . so come and have a look around .It,s nestled at the bottom of the garden you have to ring the bell to enter lol there,s a place to hang up your coat & hat there,s a clock so you know when to leave , on the wall,s are various plaques bought from charity shop,s we have birth signs of all the family which the grandchildren love to find their own and say what they are twins, lions, scales ,etc .the little ones once they could read loved the signs about tidying the garden and cleaning the boots .don’t know what the seahorse & camel have to do with the garden think they were chosen for their bright colours by an excited grandchild knowing it would get put up in “The Den” the bank leading back up from the den was planted last year and looked good but this year,s weather as done some damage to it hope it will come back to life. as the sign says you are all welcome to call for a cuppa lol .

PS we have shed where all the tools, mower, strimmer etc are kept now and then OH says can I just put this in the den just for now but he receives a big NO ! because it would be there for ever lol.

Oh! that brought back some very happy memories of our children's 'den' called the 'shedda' in our old garden. That's a great place for the children....I love the bell and all the plaques . I like the gravelled area and all the pots. I have never seen so many different coloured bricks and stones as there is in the rockery walls. It looks amazing and such a difference in height from one level to the next.

Glad I'm not the only one to use my shed as a den!lol Your's looks quite spacious compared to mine, and your two loungers look a lot more comfy than mine which does get covered in soil from time to time! Hope you get lots of time this summer to enjoy lounging in your den:)

It's a lovely little place, all nice and secluded. I think I'd be spending lots of time there if it was mine lol. Love the plaques on the walls :o)
