Take a closer look...

I’m still amazed sometimes when I take a photo and then look at it on the big computer screen. Half the time I hadn’t actually seen what I was photographing. Here are some lovely examples that I took today…
Rosa Darcey Bussell…I hadn’t noticed the raindrops…

Cirsium Rivulare…the way the outside lower part of the flower is formed…beautiful!

Verbascum…has these lovely powdery looking parts inside the flower….

And finally Sambucus flowers… aren’t they wonderful? I had honestly never seen how pretty they are close up…I was amazed!

So, if you get a chance tomorrow, have a closer look at your garden! You’ll be thrilled! :D…oh, and don’t forget your camera ;)

It's a good one Kath isn't it. It's taken about three years to settle down, but now it is starting to produce the flowers I expected from it. Funny how some roses take a while to get themselves 'comfy'! :D Thank you!

Gorgeous pictures Karen. Amazing how much more you can see when you get that close and how much more beauty is revealed.

Totally true. It's like having the eyes of the bionic man when you get them on your screen! Of course your ability with the camera is entirely down to your skill of course. Thanks for sharing :-)

Isn`t it heartening when you can get out and photograph your plants and then be bowled over by what you`ve captured, love them all Karen.
After a day of sunshine yesterday it is now pouring down again.

Lovely pics Karen. Was the Sambucus in flower when you bought it. I really want one but will have to wait. Back to rubbish weather here today.

Yes! It just has the one lovely flower on it. They had loads in the nursery and I carefully walked around swapping until I had the best one! It's not as dark as the other, more ferny one (who'se name escapes me for now) but it is a lovely soft colour and the flowers are amazing!

I love your rose Karen and my sambucus has just started to flower. Until I came on goy, I would never have thought of taking photos , especially close ups of all my plants. The camera is the best pressie my hubby has bought me and I take it everywhere.

It's amazing how photography has progressed now isn't it? Not so long ago, the quality of these pictures would only have been seen in a magazine! Thanks for sharing Karensusan :o)

Digital photography is a miracle. It lends itself to gardening so well. While many take loads of family photos and holiday pics. We gardeners have another outlet for our cameras as well, both as a record, and just the sheer pleasure of the beauty of flowers and shrubs.

Simply exquisite close up pics! - that has encouraged me today to get out there and do the same. Have been pre-occupied lately in just taking pics of my problem plants.

Thank you both for your kind comments! :D
