A Big-Sky Day!

Today we awoke to another glorious blue sky, and as it was OH’s day off, and things have been very hard for us at work lately….we went off on a jaunt to the Clattering Brig’ Restaurant for lunch.

The restaurant is on a hillside at the foot of the Cairn O’ Mount pass which leads from our side of the Cairngorms to Royal Deeside and Ojibway’s territory.

So, we arrived at the Clattering Brig at noon. This is the burn that runs under the bridge…..

and here is the bridge……

…and here is the restaurant, seen from the North as we walked up the hillside after lunch. Sorry, it’s a bit distant, but you can just see it there….

It serves full scottish breakfast, lunch and High Tea. Now for those of you who are not familiar with scottish ‘high tea’ …it is an early dinner starting off with tea and buttered toast, moving to a main course (haddock and chips, steak pie, that sort of thing) and finishing off with a plate of cakes (at least two cakes per person) and scones. It’s one of those lovely scottish traditions that I have grown to love though I found it quite peculiar at first! Have to say though..I can never eat a whole one! :)))

Right, so now you are ‘up to speed’ on the ‘High Tea’….here’s where we went after lunch…a walk up the hill to Loch Saugh and back again……I hope you enjoy the photos….

Lovely place - and what lovely weather you had! Lucky you! We're flying to Britain today and I really don't fancy being in a large metal object going through that lot up there! :o(

Oh, what a great day out, Karen...such beautiful photos. That scenery does tug at my heart-strings a bit. And I bet Miss Mollie was in her element there!

Thanks everyone. Nariz...I don't envy you at all! Karen, Molly was ever so excited because of the smell of all those lambs!! Paul, don't rush to catch up with my photos...I don't monitor what my GoY friends are doing and some people are very busy at times, so don't feel pressured! We are back to cloud and murkiness today :(( Still, it was nice while it lasted!

Yup. That's one of my triggers too! One of many I'm afraid. But some days you just can't be healthy. As long as I'm healthy most days....I'll be ok.
