I splashed out – five and a half euros on a packet of Maltesers the other day…
Normally, I just wouldn’t do it – but, I don’t seem to be able to get them out of my mind, recently…
Can’t think why………

Anyway, there was a small dog peeping out from under the coffee table watching me as I savoured them…two at a time, according to a great tip I got from KarenSusan.

So, a wee treat, since she’s had a difficult time recently??

(…and I know it’s time I got the hoover out…)

Ooooh, What is it mum?

Looks a bit scary…does it move?

Hmm…I’m really not sure about this…

Think I’ll give it a miss, if it’s all the same to you…

She’s had it as far as any Rolos are concerned…

You're kidding me ! Bruce would fire walk to get a malteser..

19 Jun, 2012

Oh bless her xxx

You could try doggy chocs I suppose...or lick it first for her.....;0)

19 Jun, 2012

I think she's looking after her shiny, white teeth! lol!

A small black dog was at the ready to hoover it up!

19 Jun, 2012

and 3 large black and white pups too!!! I can just imagin blowing a malteser across the floor into the open jaws of a SluggyPup!

19 Jun, 2012

LOL!! That cheered me up no end Karen!! My dog would jump through a fire to get a raw carrot, let alone a Malteser! :D Sooooooo funny!! Yesterday she was trying to get at my strawberries...I mean....seriously, surely no dog would eat a strawberry?....I didn't test it....strawberries are far too precious!

19 Jun, 2012

Yes they would KS...Mums dog eats satsuma's berries of all types, banana's. The only thing she leaves is dog food.

19 Jun, 2012

Big lol, I could send Snoopy over to show her what to do, just incase your other cannine friends aren't feeling instructive. Jxx

19 Jun, 2012

Lol! Lulu! It would be a bit like practicing a hole in one, I should think! lol!! :D

Oh, Karen and Pim...even Satchmo (aptly named, btw) draws the line at his five a day...unless he thinks that I might give it to Sadie, instead!!

I can hide a slice of tomato in his dinner and it will be left in tact and perfectly clean in the bottom of the bowl...

He does hoover up the chaff from around CoCo's cage, though...looks like I've got two weird ones... ;)

19 Jun, 2012

heehee! Jane, I think Satchmo has definitely claimed dibs on that!
And he suffers from "small dog syndrome"...it would definitely not be a pretty sight...! lol! x

19 Jun, 2012

Aw lol...did you wipe it and eat it? Bet you did! lol

19 Jun, 2012

lol...molly goes mental for the bird seed too!

19 Jun, 2012

If I'd had half a chance, I probably would have, Pix! It cost a fortune! It's amazing how fast small black dogs can move - when motivated! lol!! :D

They're all nuts in one way or another, Karen :D

19 Jun, 2012

Maltesers are expensive there?????????? oooh! Not coming! haha

19 Jun, 2012

But Pixi, there must be some wonderful French equivalents......if not you could just resort to a chocolate Croissant?

19 Jun, 2012

Not half, Pixi! €5,50 a bag!!!

Lord no, Karen...they're fattening...;)

19 Jun, 2012

She's definately not interested, is she lol ...
I haven't had maltesers for years. Maybe I'll get myself a pack :o)

19 Jun, 2012

Aha! You too, Hywel...if you see that "M" word often enough, you have to give in eventually... :D

It's all that KarenSusan's fault...

19 Jun, 2012

5.50 a bag? Blimey that must be about 3 quid at least!! Good grief. That will be why there is no obesity problem in France then!! lol ;) And yes, it is all my fault, all of it....fair cop! ;)

19 Jun, 2012

All four-legged pals here love Maltesers, we don`t really allow them chocolate but they are thieves sometimes, lol, both the boys wouldnot even bother if they were still wrapped up they`ed still steal them if given the opportunity, Morgan would even eat the bag but Brynner would get it open somehow and only eat the contents then Morgan would eat the bag anyway, well he is a choc/lab and a right old dustbin...
I do love the expression on the little face in the first photo, lol...

19 Jun, 2012

No lighter way to go here, Karen...full on fat, butter, 72% chocolate...maybe Malteser's have told LIES!!! ;D

Lol! I like that Lincs...no waste!! Morgan is the answer...the ultimate in recycling! ;)))

19 Jun, 2012

Wow that IS expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll bring some if I ever get over there lol. Oh anything chocolate lol mmmmm flakes!!!!!!

19 Jun, 2012

Get your ticket booked, hen!
The swimming pool is opened...the cushions are out (well, that's a lie - it's bucketing today!)

You'd just have to bring your own Maltesers!!! :D x

19 Jun, 2012

There would have been no malteser in the second pic if Archie had been around lol.........have not yet found anything he won't eat , food doesn't even touch the sides I'm afraid .......5.50 per bag gee whiz you would have to savour every last crumb!!!!!.....maybe I should consider a move, might lose some weight........lol :))

19 Jun, 2012

I could do a Malteser run for you Karen...and then you could do a booze cruise to me in return...is there a black market for Maltesers in france ?

19 Jun, 2012

I would have offered to post some you but you need a 2nd morgage now for a stamp.........

19 Jun, 2012

Perhaps we could club together and send you red cross malteser parcels. I hope your swimmng pool is a step above The Yorkshire Spa :o)

19 Jun, 2012

Lol! She is a bit "special", Niverdeen...

...impulse acquisition...if I'd researched the breed, we never would have gone there...

But, we did!! Under the influence of food, wine, cognac and conviviality...

...and you can't help but love her...even if nobody else does...she is sweet, really... :)

But, not like Archie...! lol! :D

19 Jun, 2012

Flippin' 'eck!! You're all there!!! :D

LOLOL!!
Price of stamps = bag of Maltesers!! I know that's sad, but true, Pam :(

...but...

...Pim has found the way around it! Not sure about Maltesers, but there are folk round here who go home for sausages(?), cheese(???) and Fray Bentos pies (?????)...definitely a niche (with a few maltesers thrown in, just to tease)! ;))

I think my pool might be a little higher (altitudinally speaking), Jane...but, I must warn you...it is not minerally enhanced... ;) x

19 Jun, 2012

Phew, that's a relief. :o) Now you just need some sun, to use it. Whatever happened to global warming?

19 Jun, 2012

I dk, Jane...it's not here!!!

19 Jun, 2012

BOGOF is the soloution ! Each time there is a deal on we contact Karen and come to an arrangement. We're all laughing. Fray Bentos is cheap at Home bargains

19 Jun, 2012

Bl@@dy good idea! Pim!!

Fray Bentos pies should be free to a good home!!! :D

19 Jun, 2012

I remember when a fray bentos was a thing to be admired before eating. The gravy dripping down that blue tin .. Ahh Welcome to my world everyone :)

19 Jun, 2012

I once boiled one on a hob top at a youth hostel. Not my finest culinary moment.

19 Jun, 2012

lol karen, when i had my Lab she would sit drooling at any choc and normally had some lol, great pics to :o))

19 Jun, 2012

Lovely,Sadie,Karen..I adore her face..so expressive.:o)
She is a good girl isn't she? unlike her mother! lol..I can't believe how much those Maltesers are over there..I'm with Pimms on this one..Home Bargains shop for me too..for all things chocolately...including biscuits :o)..
Lol,at your culinary skills,Jane..but I'm sure you are excellent now ...all part of the learning curve:o)

19 Jun, 2012

Late in logging in tonight....sitting here at work and am now thinking of nipping along to the garage at break time for maltesers....cheers!!

19 Jun, 2012

Ooh Bloomer, I've got plenty of curves. lol Jx

19 Jun, 2012

So have I,Jane..but all in the wrong places ! Lol.

19 Jun, 2012

I had never heard ofhome bargains Bloomer..deffo take a look K!!!! Am about to have a twirl here lol

19 Jun, 2012

Perhaps she's read somewhere that chocolate is not good for dogs? Wise little pooch! Try her with chocolate made especially for dogs, she might like that.

20 Jun, 2012

Lol @ boiling pies, Jane...I have to admit that when I first left home I ate a lot of eggs...and tinned tuna...separately, and then together...!

I don't normally do chocolate much, girls, honestly!! It's this darned weather...and boredom...hope iit changes soon, or nothing's going to fit anymore...I'll be blooming, Bloomer!

Thanks San and Nariz...:)

but, Sadie's, honestly, just plain nuts. She's a bundle of contradictions wrapped up in a tiny, ferocious, furry ball...with very white teeth!!!

We're getting the roof re-tiled right now and it's very stressful for her....and me!!!

Check it out, Pix!!! x

20 Jun, 2012

Yes I did its great! :)))

20 Jun, 2012

My Home Bargains has Kitkats on on offer I have a small stock in my cupboard now. Home Bargains always has cheap sweets and used to have a massive selection of good quality (if there is such a thing lol) cheap crisps. I reckon Aldridge residents have increased their bmi proportionate to the number of years we have had H B in our midst! I have not yet worked out an equasion. We all pop in for cheap toiletries etc and our baskets automatically fill with rubbish.... deep shame at the checkout.....they're not for me...hint at greedy others....:-) Love that dogs face Karen, what is she?:-)

23 Jun, 2012

I don't know about Bruce firewalking for Maltesers, Pims, I'D firewalk for them! €5.50 isn't £3, btw, it's nearer £4.75 these days. Sweets here (well, the decent imported ones) are horrendously expensive, so we don't buy them. We get fat on gorgonzola instead, but each time we come back to the UK, we bring home a double luggage allowance and empty Wilco's, Sainsbury's, Tesco's and the local garden centre, and Cadbury's features pretty high on the shopping list, with Terry's chocolate oranges a close second around Christmas time. Dribble.

25 Jun, 2012

Gorgonzola chocolate hmmm......I,ve seen it with chilli but cheese maltese may be a step too far for my delicate british palate......suet dumpling anyone

25 Jun, 2012

That's another thing we bring back from the UK - suet!

25 Jun, 2012

We have chocolate with crystals of salt in...and caramel ice-cream with it too, it's yummy!!

25 Jun, 2012

Gosh I see my chocolate education needs improving......I 'm going to Belgium soon..............

25 Jun, 2012

Aaaah, chocolate heaven, Pam...

25 Jun, 2012

What a sensible little doggie, she knows, mummy Karen, that she should not be eating chocolate.
I only say this (to anyone I see giving their doggies chocolate) because I had to go through the heartache of a friend that lost her dog to the small percentage? of a chance that it can kill them.
Sadie I salute you :-)
Rant over, Lol.

25 Jun, 2012

That's so sad, Willi...
...they don't get it very often...honest...as you can see from Sadie's reaction... :)

Sorry Ba...I forgot to say...
She's a Berger des Pyrenées, a strange little breed, not seen much outside of France.

26 Jun, 2012

I'll google it, not one I know:-)

27 Jun, 2012

These are just gorgeous pics & I love the captions. :)
