Collecting Seeds
Collecting Seeds

So the Grows on You seed exchange is up and running and there are some fantastic things available already. I have been scouring all my sources for different ideas on collecting seeds.
The best things to remember seem to be to only collect seeds from healthy plants and bear in mind that anything grown from the seed of a hybrid plant might have a different colour, shape and even habit!
Tools for the job are tricky to pin down as everyone will have their own way. I love the idea of a string of large paper bags in my garden shed with various seed pods suspended inside to dry out… what do you do?
As you can probably tell, I haven’t started collecting seeds yet but as I am about to move (I hope) I think it might be nice to take some of my garden with me when I go, so the more tips and ideas the better… veggie ideas very welcome too!

Sorry to confess that at the moment my exchange posts are excess packets of seeds from seed companies! Maybe I should also try collecting from the garden...You are right about collecting and drying them in a paper bag, NOT plastic!
