they may become friendly, when they get to know each other ,If they have been in a tank on there own all there life they may not know how to be friends, It could take a little time to learn, good luck with them anyway, and there run.

Hi Vabascum,thank you..yes we are putting them together for short periods & watching them, in the hope they do become friendly..:o)

Hi Sandra,they are a handfull, i thought they were meant to be slow but not these two..they are out of the tanks most of the day separately as i hate creatures in tanks /cages..

I hate anything that is confined too,Joanella....not what nature intended,I'm sure...

What a shame for everybody if they can't get to like each other. Maybe they'll gradually get used to each other, are their tanks side by side? I think you definitely neeed to go back to the drawing board on that enclosure!

Lol Joan ... they're like something from 'The Great Escape' ... and how strange for both of you to come home with a Tortoise! It would be nice to think they will get to like one another .. in time. Good luck with your next design! : o )))

I love tortoises - used to have one when I was a youngster.

thanks, Lily no the tanks are not next to each other..one in front room other in kitchen at the moment one 3ft & other 4ft we dont have room to put them together ...i have since made another "cage" outside, out of the wire mesh in my last pic & it works a treat lol :o)

Well done on making a safer cage for them! Our son recalled a school friend with a Tortoise named 'Harley'! Ours was 'Jet', so why exactly do we name them after high speed things? Great British humour I guess ... lol!

i dont know Shirley but i guess you are right,these 2 were already named when we got them i think Jenson is after Jenson Button ..yes it was strange for Ben to come home with Jasper the same day..i think he may have mentioned to her that i was getting one & she asked if we would take hers.....he could have said no..or even asked me first, but no..he wanted to surprise me...well he certainly did.lol.

That is priceless and gave me a good laugh to see them escaping from their pen, I hope they do make friends, I always think our pets need their own companion as well as us...

Lucky you, I've wanted one for a while. I remember when we had them as kids, they were always escaping, lol. They might me slow but they travel a long way. Hope your 2 become friends one day.

Hi Dawn,yes they do travel a long way & these 2 are not that slow..i am having a bit of a problem at the moment..i feel so cruel keeping them in the tanks although they are out of them quite a lot..am considering taking them to maybe a zoo or something,i will have to think about it,i hate anything kept in cages / tanks..

Me too, dont like to see animals and birds caged. I remember when people drilled the edge of thr tortoises shell so they could be tethered, totally unacceptable these days. What a dilemma you have.
