About me

I am a 63yr old retired nurse who started my life in a "single-end" in glasgow and grew up, content, to play in concrete back courts, with weekly visits to Kelvingrove art gallery and musuem and weather permitting, the odd picnic in Victoria Park. I didnt realise just how much i was missing out on till many years later.
I can remember vividly when, and how, that happened. It was 20yrs ago when i got totally switched on to gardening, it was when i visited mad,s garden, it truly had me hooked!! the sheer beauty of it all-the colours and smells ,of the many flowers and shrubs, and everywhere you looked you got another beautiful surprise! the constant visits from birds of many species, doing their feeding duties to hungry babies in nests, and , in and around , the fabulous pond there were no shortage of frogs and toads....which were always a source of entertainment. the memories of mad,s garden will never leave me not only because of its beauty but for the happy times we had there..
I have never looked back from then, i live in a flat at the foot of the Campsies and have my own small garden, it is 90 x 40 feet and thats ample for me.I have a beautiful summerhouse which is my wee haven and even if the weather misbehaves(keep in mind i live in scotland so thats more than an "if")i can still enjoy looking at my garden. i have a cherry blossom tree and loads of flowers and shrubs, i also have wildlife pond with lots of frogs and newts, and not forgetting my many feathered friends, so i think you,ll agree plenty to look at and keep me busy. i will stop now and tell more on future blogs. ive a feeling i,m going to really enjoy being a part of G.O.Y. i will get some pics sorted out soon from.jintymac.
