I love wisteria, I just wish it grew in my garden, I have tried to grow 3 seperate plants and the sparrows each time take all the buds, so I give up

What a fantastic colour! I haven't got space for a wisteria, sadly, but love admiring other people's...Good luck with yours, Holly.

Love this photo, my sister has wisteria growing on the front of her house and people stop to look when it's in flower. I will take a photo next spring and post it on the site. She gave me one that she had layered from it, it's only and infant so will have to wait a few years yet.

Bowles mauve, one of the easiest plants to take cuttings, just take 3 inch tips off non budding stalks strip lower leaves and reduce leaves left by half, insert around edge of pot(no need for rooting powder) and importantly place in cool shade making sure they do not dry out , do not cover.6 weeks you should see roots coming through the holes in the pot, water well and transfer small rooted cuttings into individual pots. You may be interested to know the Bowles who introduced them is the same family as Camilla!!

Hi janeli, I agree with joey it is Erysimum "Bowles Mauve" the perenial wallflower. I had this plant and agree they don't last long so do take cuttings.

I think, if the foliage is in the background, this is Bowles' perennial wallflower or Erysimum bicolor 'Bowles' Mauve' . They may well give up after flowering this year so it might be a good idea to take some cuttings sometime this month.
