This is an iceberg rose after an encounter with a sheep!

This is Apricot Sunrise

and this is the rose arch!!! a bit bare for the first 3 feet.

Ah well I am going to enjoy leg of lamb this weekend. Not THAT one, that will be heading for the freezer later this year. Revenge is so sweet – lol

That is so sad,Jane.just when they should be looking their best..If it had only waited till late autumn,it would have saved you a job of top pruning..very inconsiderate !! I hope you enjoy your leg of Lamb..so would I,too..I bet the naughty one will be hiding from you ...Lol.

Well at least they're not dead. But it seems the sheep will be soon :o((

Do you think the 2 pot roses will recover? I hope so, as they were presents from good friends. THE sheep was always destined for the freezer, but I shan't feel quite as bad about it now ;o)

Yes they'll recover. The sheep only ate the leaves. The stems are all right. They'll grow more leaves and branches in time. Maybe they'd do well in the ground.

If you had to eat nothing but grass day in day out you would like a nibble at something different. I saw two standing on their hind legs yesterday, propped up against the stock-fencing. They were chomping away at an Ash tree in the hedge. Last year my mint spread under the fence, quess what, they ate that too :-)

Good. I'm sure they'll grow into nice strong plants.

Perhaps you could try growing mint under your roses Jane, at least that way they`d be ready seasoned, sorry about your roses but you`ve given us a laugh.lol.

I told you to shout mint sauce at them, but now I'm thinking just grow it in the field. I like Heron's ready seasoned comment x
