Catastrophic.

I just want to tell you of a funny incident that happened yesterday.I managed to obtain some Sempervivums and thought they might be interesting in an old pot. However through the winter i had kept them in a seed try with compost and a generous amount of grit in the conservatory.I noticed the the soil was a little dry and made a mental note to water them next time i was passing.Yesterday armed with my watering can i went to water them and noticed they were waterlogged.I couldn’t under stand how they had got so wet so i started to look at the roof for any leaks. Then i noticed the cat asleep on the settee i then put two and two together.Ahh or urhh!! I realised she had been using it as a cat tray.Must have been all that grit i put in .I carefully picked out the plants and replanted them in clean compost and put them in the green house. My husband couldn’t believe i’d even re potted them.I don’t know if they will survive or not i’ll just have to wait and see!!!
