Spring has finally arrived!!

It’s amazing what a bit of sun can do.I spent a full day in the garden tidying and planting.I planted sidalcea, pieris and lots of clematis and received my big order of plug plants for my hanging baskets, about 600 in total so was desperately hunting round for small plant pots. It was lovely to hear the birds singing and the frogs croaking.Lots of frogspawn in the pond.Shame the Heron keeps helping herself to whats in the pond.I keep a few chickens and a cockerel. He has been keeping the girls active and now have 2 chicks which are in my kitchen in a homemade incubator,One black and one golden with a bit of black on top of her head.My husband commented that it,s got the same hair style as me as iv’e got golden hair with black on the top.I think he means my roots LOL!Anyway chicks doing well. There’s a few plants in my borders that look dead but i think i’ll give them a bit longer as everything is about a month behind.Good luck everyone with your gardening and lets hope we get a better summer

Its great isn't it jacqui, blossom starting to open, at last spring is here yaaaay:-)
Know what you mean about herons grr, we've had our pond over 10 years and it wasn't till last summer the heron discovered it now its there every morning, luckily the ponds nearly 8ft in the middle with lots of places for the fish to hide so don't think he's getting many as its not really a pond he can wade in, spend my life chasing him off lol.
You've been busy 600 plug plants!!!! you must have a heck of a lot of baskets, look forward to seeing them in the summer :-)

Great to hear from you Jacqui....thank goodness the winter looks to be over at last! Raining here today, and a little milder each day. Everything will be shooting up this week I hope! 600 plugs? my, that's a lot of work, but will be stunning in the summer. look forward to seeing the results later on!
