Took this Rhody Cutting back in 2006 & this is it in 2008

Didnt look much did it? The Pic below was taken in March this Year & i thought the Buds were Flowers :)

But no it was lots of lovely new growth

Maybe itl Flower Spring 2010 it looks like buds to me :) ??

I believe that may be still new growth Jacque..but then maybe not...mine have tiny little budlets at the top of each crown...but I am not sure if they are buds or new leaves...mine flower in May...we should know for sure by then! You did a super job...good for you...mine are still young but I sure did not grow them myself!

Well done Jacque.Rhododendrons are known to be quite difficult to grow from cuttings ! x

Well done, Jac! Great result. I agree with Cat - I think that may be new growth, so you may have to wait a while for flowers, still. Never mind - it's so healthy! :-))) I hope I'm wrong.

Thanx Every1 for all your great Comments ,Sadly i dont know the Variety BlueS but i do know its a Dark Pink :)I cant beleive iv done so well with it Andrew as i did take 4 cuttings & other 3 didnt make it :( Of cos il keep u posted on its Progress G&A/LinC & even if its not Flowers Buds & is more new growth like Cat/Spritz say im happy with that 2 :)

Good - I think it might be a sign of a very happy and healthy little shrub - it will flower when it's big and srong enough! I just didn't want you to be disappointed, Jac. :-)))

Jacque - for future reference, layering rhodos often has a better success rate than cuttings but you need to allow a couple of years for the layer to root before cutting it away from the mother plant

This was a Layered Cutting Andrew? It had very Fine Roots when i took it off My Friends Rhody!! It was resting on the Soil Beneth the Parent Plant :)
