Strange you should mention this,Jackie..but this morning,we saw two pairs of Blackbirds ,very active in a tree that was used a couple of years ago,to build a nest, but sadly the local cat killed them all, just as they were fledging.and they didn't come at all last year..can't say I blame them...I just assumed they were all feeding on the Red Pyracantha berries, next to the tree...seems early to me too,for nest building..It isn't one left from last year,is it? The remains of ours is still there..

Our doves have the same ideas, quite energetic they are....
Bloomer the darn magpies got ours out of one tree and I've noticed the blackbirds are avoiding that particular tree now....

Nature is so cruel,it took me ages to try and forget about them, when I looked out of the kitchen window..but it's the balance of it all ,I guess..We haven't seen the Magpies for ages, but the Pigeons are very amorous,on top of the shepherds crook Bird feeder! ..in full view too..no shame at all ! Lol.

I've had masses of blackbirds appear over the last few days. I remember reading somewhere that blackbirds from colder climes in Europe winter here in the UK.
