couldn’t sleep last night, spent hrs tossing and turning, picking up my book reading for a while but just couldn’t nod off. i gave up at about 4am when i noticed it was starting to get light outside.
so i got up make myself a cup of tea and went out into the garden.
just me and the early birds, so peaceful, no sound of traffic , no other human voices around.
apart from me and the birds all that was moving in the garden were the dreaded slugs and snails so i gathered them all up , prised some off my plants and divided them between the shed roof and the bird table.
now i can sit and have a peaceful morning cupa and the birds can have a tasty brekkie. all is well with the world.

That's the best time of day for me Irish. I had a summer house when I lived in the old cottage and sometimes I'd go up there about 5.am and fall asleep in one of the chairs. lol. I could sleep better there than in bed.
Hope you enjoyed your cuppa : )

Well I can't say I ever have this problem. I sleep very well, and I am not a morning person. I'd rather sit and watch for bats at 10pm when it's finally dark.

It might be your weather there, when you can't be outside because of the rain or cold, you can't work hard in the garden, so you're not really physically tired. You should actually be so tired, that as soon as you hit the pillow you'd slip away in wonderland....LOL. Or is it a sign of old age. They say older people need less sleep. Sorry if I offended anyone. I am getting tired already and it's only 9.30 pm.

A peaceful morning cup of tea is just the ticket. When we were still living in the mountains we used to go out on the deck with blankets and our morning cup of tea and watch the sunrise before we went to work.

Mmm... I like your idea for snail and slug disposal. I'd never thought to try that before.

Poor Irish, I bet you'll sleep well tonight, even might nodd off this afternoon. But I agree, nothing better than early morning in the garden when no one is up. 4 am light??? Sounds good, I could do a lot of work then.
