Another quick update

Well its been a while and seeing as Lily asked so nicely, Here is a quick update on the flowery things.

This has changed into

THIS

Well Lily you did ask for a weekly update……….

Now this is something worth looking at

Do you reckognise it Spritzhenry?
It’s one of the tiny little Penstemon you so kindly sent me! ! !
All grown up and ready to flower again next year. Can you see the Cerinthe seedlings beginning to show? (Also donated by Spritz.)

The Garden Pinks have finally opened! ! !

and my one and only Crocusmia
(and I didn’t have to look at the label either! !)

Our latest aquisition,

Can you tell what it is yet?

Three Hibiscus plants

Not bad for under £20 including delivery! ! !

Now for the surprising bit
Not one!

Or two ! !

There were three full sacks of delicious Marris Piper ‘tatties’ waiting for me in the veggie plot. And not a spot of blight to be seen! ! !

And finally (I sound like a news presenter!)
A lovely pressie from Bigbumblebee

My share of her lovely Lilies

Duelly planted

and potted

With the Hibiscus.

Well I haven’t written a blog for a while so I thought I would make it worth it…………… :~))

Do you think I’ve added enough photos? ? ?

22 Aug, 2009

Actually you've busted me Balcony, it's not the same photo but it is the same sack, if you get what I mean, I have got three sackfulls but had put two away and was on the point of putting this one away when I thought about the camera.
As for the border, I'm sorry mate but a blind man on a galloping horse could see the difference in those two photos! ! ! Lol :~))
Thanks OB. Those sacks came from us buying spuds last winter and spring, before mine were ready. I have about 15 - 20 of them as I NEVER throw anything away

22 Aug, 2009

Well done, Ian! Lots of flowery things to be seen - as well as those boring spuds! (only kidding - you'll enjoy them!)

22 Aug, 2009

Just back off the horse and you're right Ian, I can see the difference .....lol!!

How long will the spuds last in them bags then and do you need to seal them up or what. Just planning ahead for next year!!

22 Aug, 2009

Well done Ian on the border and your potatoes,it makes it all worth while when you get a good result like that. What colours are your Hibiscus ?.I Have a pink and a blue in my garden they are a lovely shrub...........

22 Aug, 2009

Well thanks GoY's
Spritz the Hibiscus's's's are listed as a mixed group of three but one has flowered already and that was purple with a red centre. I'll try for a close up tomorrow. :~))
Hi Sandra, those spuds should last us until well into next year. Fingers crossed.
OB. I have no idea mate sorry, this is the first time I've had so many but I've got them in the back of the shed where it is nice and cool and I've just folded the tops over and weighted them down! ! !:~))

22 Aug, 2009

Oooo Lincslass, Don't jump out on people like that...... Lol :~))
I've got another in the back garden that flowers white with a pinky centre but this year it has done that and is now flowering pink with a deeper centre.
Spritzhenry reckons its about ten years old and is to old to be moved so thats why we bought some more for the front! ! !

22 Aug, 2009

I dunno! I leave you alone for the afternoon and you start talking about me! Lol
Glad the daylilies travelled so well, and then to find that they warranted a photo in your blog, well...what can I say?
Well done you. Those spuds look terrific, even if you did count the same bag three times. (grin)

22 Aug, 2009

And you sulked cos MY tatties are growing! HUH!
Garden's looking good Digger, & you seem to have had a great day, Good, about time, after you getting hurt!
Mx

Oi! Lily2!!
That was YOU running about without the bra!! LOL!

22 Aug, 2009

Great blog Ian your flowery things look good and those pinks .... fabulous how did you get them to grow fingers as well? Yes Bbb I spotted the same spud bag :o)))

22 Aug, 2009

I've already admitted to photo'ing the same bag TWICE as the others were already put away. I'll get them back out again if you insist......... (please don't insist, they're very heavy and right at the back of the shed! ! !)

23 Aug, 2009

Just take a pic of them IN the shed! That'll put their gas at a peep, Digger!

23 Aug, 2009

Lol Hatter, thats the trouble I've got to get everything out again just to get a shot at them. Sun loungers, tent and camping stuff.......... I know I'll just take a photo from the front of the shed, then they'll understand........... :~((

23 Aug, 2009

23 Aug, 2009

Phew I'm back............... Hold on whilst I get my breath back................
Thats better, Thanks Holly, there has been some discussion here as to whether I have three bags of potatoes or whether I am trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes, Well I've just finished another blog (with photos) explaining why I'd rather not get the sacks out just to photo them.
As for the Hibiscus, Carol really likes them and we (hopefully) have a purple one, a blue, and a white one but we'll wait and see :~))

23 Aug, 2009

what does LMAO stand for?

23 Aug, 2009

I was only pulling your leg, mate! We don't want you hurting yourself again just to get a photo of the other two sacks of spuds in your garden shed which are behind so many things!
We'll accept your word in all good faith! :-)
