Now I'm getting worried !

Now I'm getting worried !

This is going to far, I’ve written 7 blogs so far (this being my 8th) and only ONE has been about my veggies. I’m seriously not impressed, Humph.
While we were in town today (returning a pair of shoes that were to big) we ‘happened’ upon a stall on the market selling….......Yes you got it MORE plants. So after chatting to the owner for a while and being shown around all the different kinds and their various needs, one hell of a downpour descended on us so off we trot to the shoe shop with me hoping that the rain would put Carol off, for today at least.
NO such luck, No sooner had we exchanged the shoes (don’t you just hate it when kids grow out of their school shoes with just two weeks left before the hols?)
and had a brew in the nearest cafe, than herself decided she would like “a couple more plants for the garden”. “Well” I said settling back and eyeing up a bacon buttie, “off you go then and I’ll see you when your done” (Which is exactually what Carol would have said last year, had I been looking at something for my veggies) But Oh no, “my wheels are all wet and my jacket will get filthy” she replied.
Now I know I’m not going to get much simpathy but I get wet as well when it’s raining and not being long back on my feet after being ill I can’t exactually run anywhere either.
“get the purple one, a red rose type one and you choose one to go with it” she suggested, as only a woman can when she means ‘if you want any tea tonight, get yourself down the road and make the deal of the centuary’.

So the end results are as follows,
Plant stall 3==Ian, nill
Rain 1==Ian, soaked
Carol Humph==Ian, well at least I got my tea

So we are now the proud owners of a Dwarf Dianthus called Passion.

\

an Agapanthus called Peter Pan

\
My choice

and a purple one who’s label got lost on the way back to the car.

\

But it wasn’t Carols fault.
Mind you It wasn,t all one sided, when we got home and dried off I was allowed to pot them on (still raining)

Such are the joys of marriage, God help her if I get man flu, she’ll regret sending me out in the rain. :~)))

3 Jul, 2009

Oh thanks for that Andrew, now you mention it I'm sure it said something like that on the pot itself, first thing in the morning I'll dig it out of the shed and have a look

Thanks Tt I chose the Peter Pan because I thought it looked a bit unusual, with its stem standing so high above the leaves

Hi Lilymac, it would serve her right if I did :~)))

Morning Hywel, More by luck than good judgement I feel

Hi Louise, I'm afraid its bad news about the wallet, it passed during the night.
The autopsy says it died from a broken overdraft agreement, two damaged credit cards and severe case of over exposure. Flowers to your local charity please :~)

Nariz, I'm pleased I pleased..........:~)))

4 Jul, 2009

Oh no Ian, very bad news indeed, was hoping it could accompany me to Wisley next Friday and a local garden centre next Tuesday :)))

RIP Ians wallet :(

4 Jul, 2009

Thanks for the laugh Ian, I'm a woman that loves shopping, but it has to be a garden centre or nursery my shoes and jeans are worn out, but that extra plant in the garden is much more of a necessity :D
Love your choice of plants, last one is definately a Balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorus)

4 Jul, 2009

Thanks Sid, I had a great time with it :~))

7 Jul, 2009

Hello...just popped in to see if that veggie blog went this way?..............No? ok bye

7 Jul, 2009

Fantastic blog, mate! I just enjoyed every moment reading it - also the comments really made me laugh - almost to the point of tears with the "sinus" ones!

Strange that we don't seem to see any blogs on vegetable growing yet so many people have allotments or grow veggies in their gardens. Other than a few tomatoes I don't grow veg on my balcony, though I have grown potatoes in an old compost bag! But take up too much space for too long for too little reward, i.e. spuds!

Love to read a blog from you on veggies!

8 Jul, 2009

Your wish is my command, Balcony, did one today :~))

8 Jul, 2009

Do you know I still get a giggle out of this blog even at 1:30 in the morning. :~)))
