Another day in the garden!

Well I’ve been busy again working on and with my soil sifter project.

I’ve built a quick frame from bits of wood I had lying around.

It is working but is very slow at the moment as I have to shovel several clumps of soil onto the sieve and then bang the screen from underneath with the shovel.

I’m working on a plan to use the up and down motion of a jig saw, attached above the screen with wires connected to the screen, to “jig” it up and down thus causing the vibrations to work the soil through and the stones, roots, glass and bits of 1970’s Ford Cortina off the edge and into the barrow for disposal.

I’ve added another link to my YouTube site where there is a video of it in action.

Sorry I don’t have any photos but I was kind of busy and I used a clamp to hold the camcorder in place so I could get on with the work! Lol

P.S. Have a listen to the music……… I’m responsible for that as well. I used a software package called Magix Music Maker which includes all kinds of instrument sounds and lyrics and I put it all together myself!

Thanks Nariz, I hate paying extortionate prices for the efforts that are available to buy. I understand that the makers want to profit from their hard work but I'm sure they don't need a fully inclusive holiday off every one sold! Lol

Hi Grandmage, I'm always tinkering and fiddling with some grand plan or other, it's a passion of mine to recycle everything at least twice before going to the big land fill in the sky! Lol

Careful now careful ... don't upset she who brings the coffee!!

Good for you Mr D ... you've given yourself quite a project there with a new garden & all but you're getting stuck in! I notice Holly giving you a helping hand with the jiggling part ... you could always get her & a friend to stand & jiggle for a small fee?!! ;o))

Lol Fluff, I don't think I could afford another helper! Holly hasn't, as yet, realised she could be getting paid for it! ! ! ! ! ! !

Ian, I watch Postman pat all day with my grandson and Ted Glenn fixes everything that's broken in the village and he is always inventing a new super duper machine that does something !!!!! Hilarious, you will have to watch an episode !

I always do Floribunda. It takes a couple of days between each video so I can recover from the last! Lol

Oh please call me Flori, everyone else does~You are an inspiration to all of us gardeners facing a mountain of a problem! Our 80 x 30 garden was in a similar state, so we have been there, Ian, it took a lot of time and effort, but we haven't done too bad considering neither of us knew what we were doing! lol There is a light at the end of the tunnel~honest!! :~))

Thanks Flori, I get so much inspiration to keep going from comments like yours. They really do help. xx
