One of my new Fuchsias has flowered.
It’s called Loeky, and is very cute I think :o)

I used to have it several years ago, but it died so I sent for it again, and it’s nice to have it again :o)

Beautiful flower!

Yes, it's quite delicate, compared with some Fuschias.

That's very pretty Hywel, no wonder you wanted to replace your lost one.

My latest large print non-fiction library book is
' A buzz in the meadow' by scientist Dave Goulson.
Very interesting.
Enjoy your Fuchsias everyone.

Very pretty, Hywel. I have purchased a few fuchsia plants this year, just tiny plants but growing :)

Thank you all. Sorry I'm not around much these days.

Gorgeous little "thing" Hywel. Looking forward to see more of your lovely fuchsias.

I think fuchsias are the most beautiful plants. So many different ones to choose and all delightful. I add a couple each year but have a long way to go before getting close to your wonderful collection Hywel. Love Loekey.

Quite an unusual flower on this Fuchsia! I've never seen it before, but it is very pretty all the same!

My Fuchsias from last year are doing quite well but there is a lot of difference between them. Last autumn I dug them up from the troughs where they had spent the summer & put each one in a 5" pot. They have all spent the winter in the same place yet a couple are advanced enough to be showing flower buts whereas others have hardly started to "wake up" from their winter slumber!

I bought them at the Blind Society's shop in town & they flowered very well all summer the trouble is they had no name labels so I have no idea what varieties they are! A bit of a nuisance as I can't search for them online & try & find out some more about them. Being as there are so many 1,000s of Fuchsias to try & trace one by photos is almost impossible!

lovely blossom..i'm surprised to find such a variety of fuchsias..i've only seen two here in our nurseries..they're considered annuals here, maybe that's why we're so limited in choices..they're expensive...pleased you share with us..

Hywel did you see Mission Bells when you ordered your last lot? Its a bit like Lockey only more so and it only grows to a foot tall. I ordered two even though I'd said there was no more room...!

Balcony there are many varieties but not as many easily obtainable hardy ones. Why not show us the flowers? I bet Hywel will know what they are.

Thank you all for your comments.

I'm not very good at identifying Fuchsias Steragram. There are so many similar varieties that it is very difficult, but sometimes I recognise the ones I am familiar with.
I didn't send for Mission Bells. I hope you'll be pleased with it :)

I quite agree Hywel, I can also identify some I've grown in years past but it can be very difficult to id them properly as some that have almost identical flowers often have very different growth habits.

That's true. I have one that's changed its name three times and I'm still not sure I have the right one.

We all have our favourites dont we? pretty one Hywel

I have a Fuchsia growing in an old strawberry pot that is about to open its first flowers for this year. It's miles ahead of any other Fuchsia on the balcony!

I have planted some in the hanging baskets on the balcony but it will be some time before
they flower yet.

I have a young Garden News in flower - its been under a south wall in a pot all winter and never lost its leaves - just shows what a mild winter we had. Dollar Princess is full of little buds too. Winston Churchill has only just started to grow - I though it was dead.

Fuchsias can be quite stubborn to lose their leaves - you might say they are semi-evergreen! There doesn't seem to be any particular benefit in retaining the leaves as they still seem to wake up around the time of the ones that lost them!

The Fuchsia in the strawberry pot will open its first flowers any day now! There is no other Fuchsia on the balcony nearly as ready as this one! I wish I knew its name!
