Some Winter Views :o)

This afternoon the weather was quite nice, so we went for a little drive around some local lanes, … and I took some photos of Castell Carreg Cennen in the winter sunshine.

It stands on a craggy outcrop above the valley of the little river Cennen, near Llandeilo, in Carmarthenshire,
and the road takes in some different views of it, as it winds its way along …

The terrain is rather hilly around the castle, and I find it quite eerie :o((

Although it was mostly sunny there were some dark clouds at times, and it was cold :o(
but we haven’t got any snow (yet !)

Keep warm and stay safe, if you have …

Love your green and pleasant views Hywel glad you had a nice afternoon out, you have no snow which was a surprise as you will see from my afternoon out it is snowy in this part of Wales! :o)

It is worth getting out and about to see such lovely places as this.
The effort is mainly in the getting-ready before you go, all those layers!

I like the land when it has atmosphere Hywel. Great photos. It was sunny here today but cold therefore the snow is still lying.

Do you paint? I think your first photo looks as though it is in water colour. New challenge for 2015?

Glorious photo's Hywel. Even in winter, the sunshine beckons us out...if only in the car!

Lovely photo's Hywel, and they are so clear with the blue sky as a backdrop..I agree,a drive out in the warmth of a car is much more appealing just now :o)

Really lovely Hywel, I agree it does look a little eerie around the castle and would even more so on a dull misty day, I as you know like nothing better than exploring such places and like to find out as much as possible about the history , I'd say it has a lot to tell if only we could venture into its past but sometimes I admit to not wanting to be on my own, too vivid an imagination I think....

Wonderful country side and beautiful photos. It looks mystical to me. The sun looks warm in your pictures Hywel. I do not feel the cold but I take your word for it :-)
I read the history of it. I found it interesting that the remains of the castle are privately owned today.

I hope it won't be as bad as they say ... although the forecast for us here is for a sunny and cold day.
Some warmth would be very welcome :o)
