Spring has sprung at last in my garden...

When I came back this Thursday I was so pleased to see the Daffodils open at last. The past few days have been quite sunny here T says and it must have triggered them to open up. There are still some lagging behind but the one that are open are brightening the garden (and me) no end. I took a few photos as a record for myself.
The ones in the coal bunker bed and under the apple tree are dwarf daffs.

There is just one of the very miniature daffs out in the side of the pond steps. No sign of any more so I will have to replenish them this year.

The larger daffs are scattered around the garden….

It was lovely to find two of my Japanese quince flowering today. They are Chaenomeles x superba Fire Dance

The Primula are lovely colours and have been flowering for quite a while now.

The Helebores, flowering for the first time, are a real delight.

I was surprised to see these Clematis flowers on the trellis. They are speckled inside and I haven’t planted any other than the Montana here!!

It’s nice to see the snowdrops still going strong and the one’s that were under the tree trunk have sprung back brilliantly..

The Ribes look lovely now but I can’t find the yellow one I bought last year. Goodness knows where I’ve planted it… Hopefully it will show it’self soon.

….and finally, the promise of things to come….

I’m so happy that the winter is drawing to a close and we are on the verge of a lovely colourful spring.

Hi home birds,
Yes me also, Im seeing more little signs every day, the ribes are just waiting to burst into flower and my three flowering cherry are starting to open,
Now when they do that really is a sight worth seeing.
Same goes for the magnolias,
These dont flower for long but it's a sure sign springs here.

You must admit you just cant beat gardening as a hobby.

It's been so warm lately out of the wind you can really feel the heat in the sun. I've been in my element in the greenhouse. I had to take my coat and jumper off and it was great to feel the sun on my (very white) arms. Pity I didn't get a bit of a tan while I was pricking out!!!
It will be lovely to see photos of your flowering cherries and magnolia when they flower. Won't be long now if this weather keeps up.

The Primulas are all looking particularly pretty.

Lovely! Looks like you've got a clematis cirrhosa 'freckles' there, instead of a Montana...lucky you!

I thought Freckles too Karen. The Montana has been in there for many years though and I have a freckles down by the house which flowered in late January. It's a mystery. Very welcome though....
We have been away visiting friends Waddy, then I was back for grandchild-minding . I felt like I had been away for ages.
Thanks thruppence and Dd, I didn't think to include photos of all the lovely yellow and purple crocus that were out in full force yesterday. They are really the main colour in the garden.
I hope I can find the yellow flowering Ribes Gralew. It'll be great to start planting won't it. I'll look out to see what you have for this year.

I just adore the mini daffs. Hb. I have loads of tete-a-tete which are at their best right now. I agree that all this is a promise of things to come. :)

Thanks everyone, it's amazing how everything is just growing away like crazy. Every day something else shows itself. We have been out there nearly all day everyday in the lovely warm sunshine, deadheading and generally clearing up. I love it when the borders start to fill up. T has skraked all the lawns and filled 12 bags and the green bin with moss.... We are going to spray with a weed and feed later. Hope I don't end up with brown lawns....lol
