Norfolk Coast in early November...

We pass this garden on our way there and it always looks so colourful…

The weather was really nice. Sunny but cool. Great for walking the coastal paths where we saw loads of mushrooms/toadstools. I have no idea what they are called but aren’t they pretty….

These were as big as dinner plates..

Here are a few photo’s we took while we walked between Sheringham and Cromer.

How about these steps…..these were the access to the beach from the site we were staying on!!!

These were the sea wall paintings in Sheringham. I thought they were brilliant….

Looking towards Cromer..

Looking down on Sheringham….

I didn’t take that many photo’s but we had a lovely relaxing break. It’s an area I really love. It will have to last me now until the spring…lol

I think it's well worth a visit Bloomer. Not far from the Broads either. Matthew likes to visit the military museum when they are down there.
It certainly is BJS. :o)

Great scenery - glad to read you had a great time. Those wall paintings are brilliant - really cheer up what is a rather dull looking wall.

It's nice to have a break away from the same old routine. You went to a lovely area. It looks nice and restful :o)

Thanks all, it was a nice change to go so late in the season when it was very quiet. We would have stayed until the Monday before I went back to grandchild minding but the site closed down on the Saturday evening....
The artists who do these paintings are so talented I think.

It looks really lovely, we haven't been for a long time, bit daft really because its not really all that far to travel and we like it around that area.
I do like the wall paintings so can use those as an excuse for a visit, plus there is nothing to beat Fish-n-Chips for lunch after a walk on the beach, they just seem to taste better if eaten at the seaside, lol.....

A grand walk! Those mushrooms are parasols, (Macrolepiota procera) and they make the most wonderful soup. There is a close relation with scales that are more noticeabl;e and browner - this is also edible but can upset some people. (It didn't upset us though)

We know these places well Homebird you can't beat Cromer crabs , the first photo was it taken near a roadside restaurant where they sell veg/ plants etc. near Holbeach ?

We love Sherringham still unspoilt, and some of the best fish and chips around, when did the wall paintings take place, certainly do not remember them, wonderful idea.
So pleased to hear you enjoyed your break.great photos.

I think it was Sept 2009 Angela, The work on the sea defence walls is by artist Colin Seal and tells the story of the resort's seafaring history.
Colin has previously painted murals in the town and his use of natural colour has won him local support. they are brilliant ......

Amy thanks for the infomation re the paintings...

Thanks Amy. The name rang a bell straight away. Yes the photo was taken as we drove past. It is where you said. It fascinates me as the land all around the bungalow is a mass of colour every year. We noticed quite a few old and new tractors and farm implements there last time we went but they had been moved this time.
Thanks Steragram I haven't a clue which ones are edible.
We love to eat fish and chips sitting on the sea front. You are quite right Lincslass they never taste as good away from the seaside.....eaten with your fingers preferably.

We passed it again yesterday on our way home Hbird we have been visiting our son and grandsons in Lancashire it was freezing up there with snow on the hills ,we always come that way home the farm veg shop next door is brilliant for sacks of onions and other veg , did you notice there's an aeroplane on the other side of the road ?

20 Nov, 2013

Yes the grandchildren like to look out for the aeroplane at the side of the cafe. We have only been into the cafe on the farm shop side, stopping there to give the children a break from traveling. I have stopped and bought potatoes and greens at the farm shop on the way home.. They are good value. I like to get them in bulk like that every now and then, then we divide them up between the family so they are fresh.
Brrrr....snow already. I hope you enjoyed your visit to see your family.
