NOT a garden blog but had to share this......

Seeing as T has completed the bike he was rebuilding,

altered the side steps for me and organised the paving of the drive, he was looking for another project. As Emily is mad about ‘Come outside’ with Aunty Mabel and always pretending to be her and tellling her pretend Pippin the dog that it’s “time to fly Pippin” and using any old box, chair or settee as her airoplane he decided to make a sit in airoplane in the style of ‘Aunty Mabels’ for Emily and Samuel for Christmas.
This is the begining of the project……

I just love what he has made. The only trouble is, I want to give it to them now……
Well we gave it to them last weekend……

That is absolutely lovely and the chidren will be so excited when they get to play with it, I know the feeling of wanting to give them it now, we used to do that all the time with our grandchildren.....

22 Sep, 2012

Wow!! Very talented OH you have HB!!
I would be wanting to give it to them now as well. I can just see their wee faces light up when they see it.
I would be using the 'winter' argument too :))
Is there no birthdays coming up? - probably not or you would have aready thought of that one...lol!

Thanks Lincs, Pam and Scottish. I am sure I can wear T down before Christmas....lol
Thanks Cinders, Willinilli and Drc. I'm thrilled by what he has made so I'm sure the children will be.
Lol Andrew. If we have to wait until Christmas eve to wrap it the wrapping paper is going to get a bit soggy if it rains. Ooooh! another reason to give it to them now...:o)

Our little twins (grand children) aged 2, love Pippin and always watch him before going to bed.

Would he like to make two more perhaps?!!!

Only teasing.

Wonderful achievement and what a present!!

We had searched the Internet and toy shops for miles around for an airoplane like Aunty Mabel's but couldn't find anything that looked remotely similar. My daughter says she will have to buy a warmer coat now, because she will be spending an awful lot of time outside. Or they will have to get rid of one of the settees....lol
They do love make believe play Sticki. I wish we had thought about it for her birthday last May Stroller. They could have used it through the summer. I can't wait to see the reaction Hywel when they see it.
I love to watch it too Wildrose, it's quite educational isn't it. I have learned one or two things whilst watching it with them.....lol
It would be nice to have made one for Matthew and Phoebe too but their garden is quite small and full of other toys. It would have to be a Star wars ship for them though...lol

Excellent craftsmanship hope the children have many hours playing with it.
Love the turbo fan blade on the front, how about a battery opperated motor behind they could take off then.lol

Wow! this is absolutely amazing, i didnt know 'come outside' was still broadcast, my children used to love that programme especially Pippin the dog. Emily and Samuel are very lucky children, ive just showed my teenage girls these photos and they said 'why couldnt our dad have built us something like that when we were small, we would have loved it!'

23 Sep, 2012

Brilliant...I can just imagine their reaction and their little faces, such a fantastic pressie....Remi would love it, aeroplanes and motorbikes are his thing...:>)

23 Sep, 2012

That's fantastic. the children are going to be thrilled with their xmas pressie ~ lucky things ;-)))

Brilliant bit of DiY there, looks fabulous
love the bike to, remind me which model pls?

23 Sep, 2012

Lol Brian, we are hoping the breeze will turn the fan blade as its very free running. It took T ages to find something suitable that looked a bit like a propeller.
Thankyou Sb. I have only been introduced to Pippin since Emily started watching CBBC. Matthew was only interested in Thomas when he was her age.
Thanks Moti. Remi is a proper little lad. I cant wait to see their reaction when we show it to them.
I think they will receive it quite a while before Christmas Lijemc (if I get my way....lol)
Thanks Stevie, T says its a Honda CL 77 a variant of the CB 77 Superdream.....whatever that means...:o))

23 Sep, 2012

That's fantastic.
Conker likes Come Outside... gets excited when the theme tune comes on the TV...
When Emily and Samuel grow too large for the plane, my dogs would love to inherit it for their tricks routines, please ! Lol.
Well done to your clever husband.
Gone to my favourites :o)

30 Sep, 2012

Thanks Tt. I can just imagine Conker as Pippin in the plane. Will remember for when the children are too old to want it anymore. :o))

30 Sep, 2012

Thank you :o)))

Wonderful work by T ... the children will be delighted when they see it ... how many sleeps until Christmas? .... :o)))

2 Oct, 2012

Well, Shirley, we gave it to them last weekend.......they were so surprised they just stood and stared at it for several minutes until Sam dashed over an scrambled into it. Emily then asked if she could sit in it and we had to explain that it was hers and she could play in it whenever she wanted. It was lovely to see her so happy and excited. She loves it. We took it up to their home when they went back on Sunday. I am so glad we didn't wait until Christmas.

4 Oct, 2012

Auntie Mabel has taught me a lot too. But, she isn't quite so squeaky clean......look out for her empty wine bottles when she does the recycling!!!!

5 Oct, 2012

Oh! yes I noticed them Wildrose...lol. Must be a habit picked up when she was Nurse Gladys Emanuel in Open all hours !!!

6 Oct, 2012

Good to know that Sam and Emily love the aircraft.

... maybe the wine bottles belong to Pippin ;o)

6 Oct, 2012

7 Oct, 2012
