Run out to Clumber Park yesterday...

We decided as it was another glorious day that we would take my car with the roof down for a run to see if the Rhododendrons and azaleas were out in the park. It was so disappointing as there had been so much winter damage over the past 2 winters that there were only a few blossoms survived unscathed. I took the camera so here are a few photo’s of the good ones we saw….

Then we had a walk to the walled gardens and the vinery. There wasn’t a lot to see yet as they are only just getting the vinery and gardens planted. But the planters they have arranged are lovely….

I wish these were my terracotta pots and that my potting shed were as clean and tidy….

These plants really caught my eye in the greenhouse….

There wasn’t much to see in the walled gardens as I said. The gardeners were digging, planting up or sowing seeds as we walked around.

We had had a lovely trip out in the beautiful sunshine. I hope you are all making the most of this very welcome sunny weather in your gardens…..xx

Lovely pictures Homebird, years since I've been to Clumber Park, and its not too far from me either, daughter went with her boyfriend this week too, I've always fancied going to one of the summer concerts they have there.

Thanks everyone, it was a lovely trip out and yes Karenfrance that was the best part as it was the first time this year I have felt warm enough to put the roof down......
Pam. You must pop in to have a look around . It's lovely all through the year. National trust owned so if you are a member it's free parking and to visit the glass house and gardens.
Simbad we like the Summer Concerts too.
Grandmage, I have never seen so many t. pots. It was roasting in the glasshouses and I forgot to take photo's of the massive grape vines.
Dido. I hope you manage to get there this summer. You must go and see if there are many changes since you last went.
Paul. The fern is called Athyrium nipponicum var. pictum. I'm not really into ferns but this one really caught my eye.
