My garden at the end of March

The past week has been gloriously warm and sunny and the plants have responded to the sunshine and warmth with a great spurt of growth. It’s been a pleasure to work in the garden and see all the new growth. These are the plants in flower at the moment……

New fancy daffodils I bought last autumn. I must find the label for them……

The tulips are bursting open all of a sudden…….

The Primroses continue to flower beautifully…….

There is something pretty to see in every part of the garden, I love this time of year when the garden changes up a gear and gives us a taste of what is to come….

and finally in the greenhouse the seeds are germinated and the plants are so far forward they need to go out but it’s much too early to risk………

It’s forecast much cooler weather from tomorrow (Saturday) so it’s been lovely to spend a great week out in the garden especially as I have had Emily and Samuel here all week. Fingers crossed the warm pleasant weather will be back soon.

Your garden is looking great, HB. I really like all the different levels you have, it makes it very interesting. As I said before - just love that aubrietia.
You will have a busy time getting all those young plants in. But that's a joy, isn't it?
Yes, spring came here too, like summer, and I have spent almost all of the last ten days outside in the sun, getting loads of work done early.

That aubretia is so pretty & I love those daffodils. Lots of interest in your garden & you are obviously going to be busy with all those seedlings to plant it when its warmer.

Lovely pics of a great garden Homebird, I do like your frilly daffodils, it has been really good for the last couple of weeks and like you I`ve also enjoyed my time in the garden. All your seedlings are looking good in your greenhouse so plenty of ongoing planting for the future, you are right about not moving them out so I guess you are going to be juggling them around for a while yet, its all good fun but better than losing them after all your work..
Two happy smiling faces to add to the scene, what more could one ask for, except of course, a good summer. enjoy your garden, its lovely...

Thankyou all so much for your very nice comments. I am looking forward to shuffling a few plants around to areas where there is little to see next week when the children go home. It's been a fantastic week for us playing outside every day, but not got a lot done in the garden though. Just had time to water the greenhouse and pot a few plants up each day while the little ones had an hour or so nap in the afternoons and did manage to plant out the peas and onions into the veg patch and sow a row of beetroot. Emily helped sow some wild flower seed in the very top of the garden where I can't grow much else as it's shady and dry up there in the summer. She was pretending to be Mr Bloom in his nursery..... We have to check them every day to see if they are flowering yet...lol

I did not realize your garden was as big as that, love the different levels , I would imagine it keeps you fit, walking up and down, it is really pretty, loads of colour.

Thank you very much Dd, It felt massive when we first came but it's funny how it seems to shrink to fit you....lol. Much better with the different levels and more manageable than the continuos slope it was when we came here. Only draw back is that everything has to be carried up by hand. We have agreed that there will be no more hard lanscaping up there from now on....lol
