Late October garden for my records, and early morning visitors.

It’s the 25th October and there is still lots of colour to see, it seems a shame to take plants out or cut them down yet.

Early morning visitors, first there were 2…….

…..then there were 5……

……..then there were 6…..eatingT’s grass seed he put down yesterday after scraking the lawns…..cheeky monkeys….. they had already had bread and cake…..

They are standing outside the conservatory door again waiting to be fed…..I had better go and see what crumbs are left in the tins…..

Still looking good Homebird, lots of colour as you say. All ive got left in flower are Fuchsia in large urn which I have just taken in as we are expecing frost this week. My Hosta were all done and cleared by end September yours look so glossy still.
Three families of pheasants best Ive had this year was 120ish thrushes on the "lawn"
Keep enjoying.

I am lucky to be enjoying it this late in October Tt. Thank you. The pheasants must have followed me down the garden knowing I'm a soft touch......
You are a bit more north than us Geordie, so we are lucky to have a bit longer to see the flowers. Thank you.You were lucky to have so many thrushes on your lawn. I think they are lovely birds.

Your garden certainly still has loads of great colour. It's looking fabulous. It's obvious you just don't feed your visitors enough. They keep hanging round for more. More please!

I wouldn`t cut any down either Homebird, it all looks lovely and doesn`t show any signs of giving up yet, a credit to you. I like your pics of the Pheasants, they have adopted you as their local eatery.......

Thankyou everyone for your lovely comments. We hadn't seen any Pheasants since spring and never had 6 at once These look like young ones. Probably escaped from the shoot accross the fields. They hang about under the fat ball hangers catching what drops as the small birds feed. They have ousted the pigeons. Lol.
The silver plants are Cineraria Silver Dust Paul. They can be used in winter tubs and baskets too. Easy from seed.
I don't know about getting warmer Costas, I haven't noticed much warmth for the past 2 summers and we haven't had such cold winters for years.... Or am I feeling the cold more now I'm over the hill........Our summer seems to have split into 2 sessions, one in April/May and another in September/October, with a constant cold wind in between.
Thankyou everyone for calling in at our house....:o)

Hi HB....still looking impressive....love the Birds...nice to see them...
Frost has taken my Dahlias now, but still colour left in the garden here and there, and its so welcome for this time of year too...enjoy it for as long as you've got it...:)))

Thanks Clarice and Crissue, there has never been as much colour to see this late as far as I can remember, but then it's only since I joined Goy that I have planted more and really taken notice. I expect the frost will come sooner rather than later and put a stop to it but it's nice while it lasts. The pheasants haven't called today but the pigeons have scoffed everything I put out and they are waddling about like ducks.

Yes I think GOY has got us all going lol....:))

...and tempting us all to spend money! lol.

It's looking very pretty, Homebird, and why remove or cut down plants? Do it when frost is forecast. Enjoy the colour while you can! :-)))

I am finding that the wet nights lately and the heavy dew most mornings are taking their toll on some of the plants but there is still a lot going well and it's nice that the garden is winding down slowly.

Thankyou very much Bloomer. The only awkward bit really is mowing the sloped lawns and trying not to let the mower drag you screaming into the pond at the bottom. lol
