my finds in skips.

Looks like a good source of garden furniture Holly. Particularly the bench!
Must pull over at the next skip (Dumpster USA).

hello blueyes skips used to be stored next to the farm but they are no longer there so my finds are no more///////

Hi Holly,
I had an old worn birdbath similar to your find, I painted it with green "Hammerite" which gives it a hammered metalic finish and looks quite good especialy when it weathers a bit.

Wow love the horses heads, what other people throw away!!! Only things i got out a skip were a childs slide (nothing wrong with it) and a set of plastic drawers on wheels that cost about £20 in Argos!! It was a neighbours skip and i did ask if i could have them!!

Only thing I ever found was somebody else,s rubbish dumped in our hired skip overnight,hows that for cheek!!........

It's amazing what people throw out. You've been lucky to find these things.

When I was moving house quite a few years ago I hired a skip to dump all the stuff I didn't need and also called a few "House Clearance" people to see if I could sell on any stuff. I'd thrown four cheap kitchen chairs in the skip - one had a torn plastic seat and one had a chewed leg, compliments of the dog. One of the house clearance people saw them and paid me £8 for the four - as seen! Best £8 I ever made!

Wow Hollygate, I just found your blog.....What great finds!! I find it amazing that people would just chuck these away. They are certainly lovely items. I love the horses heads the best.
