Flowers from seeds

When it comes to growing from seeds my results are not usually very good, apart from sweetpeas and nasturtiums, which I grow every year, apart from that I buy small plug plants for summer bedding.
This year i thought I would give a go to a well known brand of garden seeds mixed together all you had to do was sprinkle on the soil…. everything was included and guaranteed to grow….
So I gave it a go for some of my pots and they have been lovely I would recommend them to anyone for a lovely summer display…
Here are some of the flowers

Its a miracle….I can grow these….LOL….

Well done Holly such a cheerful show of colour.

Super display, I bet the insects are over the moon. We all hanker for the unusual and showy plants sometimes, but these old cottage garden favourites always give a terrific show for very little effort. I have the common pink oxalis, which can be a nuisance and loads of people despise, but it always gives a good show without any trouble and am going to fill holes with common old candytuft next year!

that looks lovely. what mix was it? I would like to try that next year as I am the same, can't seem to grow from seed, but it's proving really expensive buying plugs.

I think the secret with outdoor sowing is to choose an evening when it has been raining during the day.
Then cool the next day.

Lovely display Holly....

They're truly lovely Holly and take me back years, especially those little blue stock? flowers. I remember these along with night scented stocks when we were first married and I wasn't sure what to grow in the garden, the night scented ones were amazing at dusk! Love the brilliant peachy Godetias, and candytuft....in fact all of them, they're so pretty, well worth trying!

You have got a very nice selection of annual flower there, Holly! :-))

This year for the first time in donkey's year I've sown a few Candytuft seeds & they are about to start flowering!

My wife loves Godetia & most years I sow a packet for her but this year I forgot!

I've also grown the Stocks but not for very many years now.

Your seeds have done you proud, Holly, so much colour. I had some aquilegias that had just put on a spurt of growth but yesterday one of the tortoises made a meal of them :(
