on holiday

hi
I am currently in Auckland New Zealand visiting family for christmas. I am enjoying nice sunny weather but have to admit that it is not at all like christmas.
i am missing my garden at home. we are trying to tidy up my sons garden here but the weeds are winning I think!!!
It is beginning to take shape but i think once I go home it will go back to a wilderness !!! as green fingers don,t appear to run in the family.
we visited Christchurch [known as the garden city]for a few days and it was very nice[.included photo is us being taken by punt on the river Avon. ] We are going touring up north to the Bay of Islands in January in a camper van so I hope to take lots of photos then.

Hi ~
Glad to know you arrived safely.
I'd been thinking of you on your outward journey.
Wonderful country. I have a penfriend in NZ, and every year she sends me a calendar with photos of spectacular scenery.

Merry Christmas to you and your family "down under" from Terratoonie, Conker and Crocus. xxx

Hi Helen, enjoy your hols in Kiwiland. You look like you are having a great time, despite the fact you are missing your garden. How could you, when there is so much to see and do??? Well, the Christmas spirit is different in the summer, but you are being reminded all the time, trees everywhere. There'll be Carols by candlelight in the streets and people having barbecues and picnics. It takes some getting used to, but you better enjoy the sun whilst you can, cause up North where you live it is dark and cold!
Merry Christmas to you and your family down under.

I think I could tolerate Christmas in weather like that. Think of us coughing and sneezing while you drink your christmas toast. Enjoy!
