Longwood Gardens...Visit 2

We went back to Longwood Gardens just 2 weeks after the first time….My hubby wanted to see the spring bulbs in bloom. They were a riot of color!

There is a path that you can walk that is called the ‘Flower Walk’ it had incredible numbers of tulips lining the walk on both sides…

We then walked a path through a lightly wooded area…

Eastern Redbud – Cercis canadensis

Lungwort – Pulmonaria

Foxglove – Digitalis purpurea

Lenten Rose – Hellborus_orientalis

As we walked we were serenaded by the bells of the Carilon…

More Tulips…parrot and triumph types

Snapdragons – Antirrhinum by a pot

Virginia Bluebells – Mertensia virginica

Crown Imperial – Fritillaria imperialis

daffodils in planters outside of the Conservatory

Freesia – Freesia alba

Gardenia – Gardenia jasminoides

Icelandic Poppies – Papaver nudicaule

Japanese Pittosporum – Pittosporum tobira

Pitcher plant – Sarracenia purpurea

On the way out we passed this gazebo…..nice place to sit and rest

What a marvellous collection of Tulips! It's great how they lend themselves to planting "en masse"!

This has been another bright & beautiful blog! I love seeing so many Tulips. :-)

The DuPont family was very influental in this area, and they have many Gardens that are available now to tour. During my hubbies vacation in May we plan to see at least two more of them!

I can't wait! :o))
