Pond and Ice

We took a small side trip down to the local pond today, and found tons of ice! Here are a few pics…hope you enjoy them!

First we found all these mushrooms that had grown before the freeze!

This pond is formed by a small dam, the water has an overflow spot, and ice formed there big time!

Then we saw all these rose hips not yet eaten

Then I noticed that the water had frozen as the wind blew it to shore…looks odd

We saw geese walking on the frozen surface, but they were too far away to get a clear pic of them.

I saw this downed log on the way home…everything is trying to return it to the earth!

How cold it all looks. I thought the hips looked pretty. There's still food around for the birds then. I hope you were wrapped up warm :o)

Thanks all...I love water in all it varieties muddywalters, and the waves just got to me.....that pond only has waves in a stiff breeze or wind! it is virtually still looking otherwise!

Hywel...I was only out for 30 mintes and other than walking the dogs, I am in my chair in front of the 'puter with my heater right beside me! :o)))
