Rain finally stopped play!

Well, yesterday’s plan B became today’s plan A. Ironing is therapeutic but not half as good as gardening. Still, as with most rainy days during the gardening season, it gives us a chance to catch up on the mundane chores! Though I must say, whilst dashing away with a smoothing iron, my little brain is excitedly planning for the sunny days!

Here’s hoping the holiday weekend and Monday will be fine. Sunday, him indoors and yours truly are going to the local village hall where there is a plant sale. Only gardeners find this sort of thing riveting – my student daughter found it difficult to stifle the yawns when I told her. “But that’s what us wrinklies do Bank Holidays”. She has a far more exciting time planned watching some sauerkraut football match in Manchester. The mind boggles!

Oh to be a student again. My time in Bangor was brilliant forever looked back on with great fondness – except for the hangovers :( We would visit Bodnant Gardens and Penrhyn Castle to draw plants and the like. I think that’s when I began to harbour a desire to grow things. Thankfully, years later, I managed to find a like minded soul, who also loves cats as much as me. Perfect – a man who does, loves plants and adores moggies and better still wears the trousers because I tell him he can!!!!! :) A rare breed indeed. His only vice – football – now that’s the only time my eyes glaze over and selective deafness strikes!

Please let tomorrow be fine, I am addicted to the outdoors in much the same way I have begun to be addicted to GOY (see I’m getting the hang of it).

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. If we pick up any nice or unusual plants I will ask David Bailey Mk 2 to take photos to share :D
