It was my first Chelsea flowershow, but not my last. I simply loved it. It wa my second time in London, and I love it. All people seems so helpfull. Several times, when we stood with our maps, helpfull people stopped to direct us.

When I started planning my trip, I asked for some advise here, wich some of you kindly gave me. Thank you.

I was told to save strength for the pavillion because it was very big!! Yes indeed. It was so fantastic. We started in there, which caused that we had lots of space to look and talk to the exhibitors.

I have hoped that I could buy a catolog before the show, but RHS don´t send abroad. Perhaps I could have some help from one of you next year. Of course I will go again.

Here some pics from the pavillion, later I will show more from the showgardens and my visit in London.

I haven't forgotten my first visit there, I think you'll never forget the first one. I certainly remember the delight and joy I had and also my poor legs when home, they felt like jelly. You've taken some lovely pictures, the first one looks like a body of soldiers. I bet you'll go an other year

I'm so pleased you liked it Hanne! It's an experience never to be forgotten. I cried when I went the first time, the excited just got too much! I was lucky enough to go this year too, it was a real surprise, organised by my lovely hubby, as a "Yippee you're getting better!" treat, after my shoulder operation! We hadn't been to Chelsea for years so it was brilliant to go back.
I must put some of my pics on, but I don't think they're as good as yours' Hanne!

Libet, were you there same day as me? On the Tuesday? How lovely that you went as well...get your photos on. Hope shoulder is getting better x

Hanne, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Isn't it wonderful, and the first visit is always the best I think! I also love London, it is the best city I've ever been in, not that I am widely travelled, but I've been to Venice, Rome, Paris, New York and Vienna, and I prefer it to all of those.....still a few to visit though ha ha!

its ironic isnt it ~ you live in scotland [karen] and like london and i live in england and much prefer edinburgh ~ the only other city i have ever liked was Seville.

I forgot about Edinburgh! :O Edinburgh is lovely too, but not as warm as London, in fact Edinburgh is usually cold whenever I go....windy....but I do love going there, especially for the galleries, and of course the Botanic Gardens. I should like to go to Seville, but the next city on my 'to do list' is Salzburg, followed by Florence.

Yes, you see, that's what spoils it isn't it. Rome was mobbed, Prague was mobbed, London is always mobbed in Oxford ST. and Covent Garden, but you can find quieter spots and that's what I like about it. The parks, tea at the Orangery at Kensington Palace, Hampton Court, the little back streets in Mayfair where all the lovely cafes are and the tourists are not.....the Zoo in Regent's Park...the new Globe, the National Gallery and the Tate British which is always quieter than the Tate Modern....Hampstead Heath and village, I could go on and on.....Soooo much to do and so many places to wander! I think I need to go back again soon....

Have you lived in London? I have been many times and oldest son lives there. I haven't been to Mayfair tho, haven't even bought it on monopoly!

Hampton Court is a real treat, especially the kitchen when they all dress up and cook

I had three years there as a student Sticki, many many years ago. I loved it, and my plan was to go back and get some work there after my post grad studies in Manchester (which was miserable I'm afraid). Then I met OH at a party in Dundee when I was visiting a friend here....and the rest is history! Luckily OH loves London too, he is an avid Arsenal fan, goes down a couple of times a year to see them, so sometimes we go down together. Finding the Physic garden was wonderful, another lovely place to go, relax and eat!! Bliss! xx Mayfair has some fantastic little restaurants and pubs if you get behind the main streets, but its big time posh of course....a great place for just people watching!

I fancy the physic garden restaurant most! Have you tried cooking any of the recipes yet?

10 Jun, 2011

No, not yet. I've been cooking loads of diabetic stuff....and it turns out I don't have Diabetes after all that!! So now I can let my hair down a bit!...oh, wait, I did do a lovely salad of parma ham, mint, peas and shelled broad beans. That was fab!

10 Jun, 2011

that sounds really lovely. glad you havent got the diabetes. dont talk to me about hair ~ i have had a disaster ~ hairdresser has coloured it black ~ not what i asked for and not what she said she was going to do.

:((( Hate when that happens!

By the way Hanne, sorry, we have hijacked your Blog! I do apologise! Sticki, let's leave Hanne's blog.....we can blether on our own photos!! :)))

It do not matter at all, I can learn something from your ´talk´. You mentioned a lot of places of my interest.

And now I´am very happy to tell, that I´am comming to Chelsea next year too. We have booked the same appartment in walking distance from the show. Now we know some of the restaurants in the area, the way to coach station an so on.

Next year we are draming of High Gate Cemetery, Kensington roofgarden, Chelsea Physics garden, and perhaps a bit more shopping, and another cake from humming bird, and, and.

11 Jun, 2011

Ah well, that's great news Hanne and you MUST go to the Physic Garden...the Tangerine Dream Cafe is absolutely wonderful..but you must pay cash as they don't take credit cards. Oh, and another tip, they open later in the evening during the Flower Show so you could even pop along for your evening meal!
