Walking to Newlands

5 p.m. : It looked to be a lovely day today, with partial cloud, and quite cool, so I took my jersey off and headed north to Newlands for a change, knowing I’d have to walk 45 minutes before reaching the nearest shop for 100% rye bread. That was just before noon. I haven’t done this walk for about 5 months.

It was nice to see the mountain from a bit closer again – I took a couple of photos along the way.

But back home I was feeling very warm and thought it was still too warm for such a long walk, especially on quite steep roads most of the way. It was now 70F=21C.

You have some very nice views there!

Here it's all as flat as a pancake! Hardly a minimal pimple on the flat landscape! There are times when walking down to town, or coming back, when I feel like an attack of agoraphobia is about to strike! I felt so much more at home when we were in Cuenca over Christmas! LOL!

Just like in Cuenca! Both my wife & I miss the hills visible from any part of the city. I imagine our daughter misses them as well.
